Spend a part of our night on the terrace with great french music. The staff was helpful and accomodating. The food, had poultry and fish, was spotless. Were offered a courtesy dessert, perfect to wrap it all up. Our order was processed quite quickly even with a full house. Do note that the prices are on the higher end.

The dinner hour in Costa Rica doesn't usually start until 7 p.m. so I opened up the restaurant at about 6:15. It's a fairly large restaurant with an open seating area outside right on the Avenida Escazu. This is a lovely place to have dinner and there are quite a few restaurants around here. There are some typical French items... More

While in San Jose on business I stayed in a hotel just next door to this restaurant. I was exhausted from my day and decided to have an early dinner next door. I may well have been the only person dining at 6 pm so I had my choice of seating. As the weather was lovely that evening I asked... More

Nice ambience, good service, excellent food (I had escargots and blanche de vieu, both very nice), freshly baked bread and a good bar and wine list ... very satisfactory experience

Great ambiance, people watching, service. Better yet: the food is astounding. Start with duck patee. Go for mussels con papas frittes. Then creme burle. You'll be happy.

I wouldn't say it is the most authentic french cuisine flavor wise (being from France), with the definite exception of the steak tartare, which exceeded some restaurants in Paris. The selection was up to par. Some of the menu items are over priced. If you are in the area and want good atmosphere and meal, I would recommend.

Went for a special occasion lunch and it's a very impressive place on the inside. However we felt that the service was not very good. They were not attentive and we were ignored a lot. They didn't ask me how I wanted my steak and never gave me a choice of sauces. I didn't realize this until later and when... More

Located in Avenida Escazu center, L'lle de France is a very neat and fancy restaurant. The environment matches perfectly with this French cuisine restaurant. We order several dishes and they were all fine, but missing that wow factor.

very good presentation, quality, acceptable wines, international prices. Service very good, fast, clean. All that is expected of a quality restaurant with French name but with a more international menu.

Some dishes were outstanding, the best salmon tartar I have ever tried, the best tartar ever... period. Although the daily special was not at the level of other plates. Wine list is very good, both in selection and price. Not as ensure as restaurants are to charge in CR. Desert was very much to the level. Price wise it was... More
