I always recommend Clandestina, because the food (and local beer) is superb and it has a great ambiance.

Beautiful place, excellent creative food, but not enough beer for a brewery. The carnitas on plantains were legendary.

After hiking to the falls in the mud, then climbing up up up the trail we came upon this lovely restaurant. What a great spot. Excellent service, excellent food. We loved it.

Loved this place! Food was amazing and the Butterfly Brewery beer was the best we had the entire time in all of Costa Rica. The food stayed true to Costa Rica while offering something different. Definitely elevated dishes.

A short walk from the town of Montezuma, right beside the butterfly sanctuary. You can even add it as a stop after having hiked to Montezuma Falls for a little dip! The food is fresh, hand-made, no salsa from a jar here! The craft brew...is excellent, try the Lululopa if you are jonesing for a hoppier variety.More

Clandestina was a highlight of our two week trip in Costa Rica. The menu items were creative as was the food presentation. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Staff were friendly and service great. Make the effort to check out this restaurant!

So fun getting this feedback. It’s why we put all of our hearts into this. From the dry chiles to the songs on the playlist. Thank you un millón de veces. <3

Such a great place to have a drink and eat something, you feel that you are in the jungle in between the trees. Nice vibe, good beer, we had some salsa to go with it. I am now sorry I didn't go to see the...butterflies... will need to go back!More

While I’m sure everything is excellent, we had the casados, which are not to be missed! Can’t be beat. Fresh. Flavourable. Top it off with a local onsite beer from Bees Brewery

This place is on a very steep hill. It was quite a hike to get there. The food and beer was worth it! I LOVED the tropical IPA. It reminded me of the froot loops I loved as a child. Great craft- I was disappointed...they ran out of bottled beer that they sell for folks to take back home. We both ordered the fish tacos and were not disappointed. High end, good quality, wonderful garnishes. Very flavorful. We would have gone back again and again if it weren't for that steep hill. They have a lovely butterfly garden out back too. We're coming back next time we're in the area!More
