We had an early dinner here today. I explained to the waiter that I'm basically eating just protein and veggies. He had the chef prepare a plate as I wanted, with no rice, beans, tortillas, etc. I had a rib eye which was delicious. Everyone...else had seafood and rice, and they all loved it. Our waiter was especially good. This place is not fancy, but it is a little more upscale than most.More

The restaurant continues to be a good option for a quick brunch on your trip to Guanacaste. Nothing fancy or full of details but you can expect a quick and accurate service plus good quality.

We had to leave soon our hotel to arrive early in park, we chose this place to have a breakfast and it was rich sandwich: egg ham cheese bread! And a local coffee... energy for trail ahead!

Price vs quality is no coherent. You can eat/drink much better for the same price in other nearby places.

I've been visiting Costa Rica for 35 years. Palenque Garabito is on the way to my house in Monteverde. I absolutely cannot pass this incredible place without stopping in for a fantastic meal--breakfast lunch or dinner! It's a landmark and in the early years was...one of the only restaurants in the area. Though there are now many choices, I have no reason to stop elsewhere. The ceviche is divine. The grilled corvina (sea bass) can't be beat. Try fried yucca instead of french fries. The langostino (in garlic and butter) is incredible. I know there are so many good dishes but these are my favorites!More

Web were amazed at the many choices they had to chose from. They have fish, beef, chicken and even hamburgers and other sandwiches. Debbie chose the chicken cordon blue and I has the chicken with rice dish.also they gave us complimentary black bean dip with chips. The...garlic bread was also included. Debbie had a Smirnoff ice apple and I had a Imperial and the bill with tip and tax was less than $30.00. The owner even came by to welcome us to Costa Rica. Our future new neighbors Bob and Jackie Stephens suggested the place cause it's not only close to Colinas de Miramar but the love the fishMore

We always stop here on our way from San Jose to Guanacaste. I can't vouch for the food, but the natural juices are great. It's a good pit stop. Try the "guanabana" juice. They will ask you if you want it with water or milk....I take mine with milk. Remember you're about to get back on the Pan-American Highway which can be slow at times. Use the bathroom before you get back in your car.More

Palenque Garabito is a popular stop on the Interamerican Highway, halfway between San Jose and Guanacaste. Simple and tasty food. Good service.
