The food was amazing and very fresh. We enjoyed the nacho starter and then various snapper dishes and saltin (a specialty). All,portions were generous and we left with happy smiles on our faces. Off the beaten path so it was not crowded. This is a hidden gam. Strongly recommend. Ana is a wonderful chef. We can't wait to visit this... More

The food and hospitality is excellent and very well priced. One of our favorite places. Apparently they are on the old road to Manuel Antonio from Quepos so you need to take a side road across from Hotel California.

Having had seven different dining experiences in Manuel Antonio and Quepos I would have to say El Arado was my favorite. Very authentic and the family who owned or worked there were fantastic in getting our food ordered and prepared. Everything was wonderful. I had the whole grilled red snapper pictured. They call it barbecued. Definitely make this one of... More

Fantastic, affordable, delicious food and service. They do not speak English, but that does not hinder your ordering! Nice folks, nice atmosphere and you will feel right at home.

We tried El Arado primarily because we were staying just a couple of doors away and were looking for a convenient dinner spot. The reviews we read recommended the whole fish, and they were absolutely right. We had the whole fried snapper and it was absolutely delicious - probably the food highlight of our time in Quepos. Even if you're... More

We went to El Arado with a guide we hired after a mangrove tour. El Arado is owned by his sister and her husband who run the place. The food was excellent, and they also made up a very refreshing watermelon "slushy" (which is my description, not theirs) for a drink - which was delicious. My husband ordered the fish... More

I took the fish I caught to Ana, on the recommendation from the owners of Coyaba B&B, and she did a fantastic job of cooking them for us. She fixed each of the 3 kinds of fish 2 ways, and both were delicious. She has a great place to hang out like a local, have some very tasty appetizers and... More

We waited for more than one hour just to get some sandwiches, after that they overcharged us and when we asked for explanation they didn't even recognized their mistake and had racist comment. Afford this place, the owners are not correct, unpolite and the worst behaviour we ever experienced in many months of travel in central america. Don't forget that... More

El Arado is a small place tucked away on a dirt road, off the main highway to the Manuel Antonio Park. It is run by a family that has a farm northwest of Manuel Antonio, where they grow most of the vegetables in their cooking. Their menu is simple and authentic, focused on local-caught mani-mahi, red snapper and prawns. n... More

The lack of other customers was odd given the reviews. We had a fun evening here with a couple of pals but that was in spite of the very average food and wine. The service was friendly and our friends thought their food was alright, hence 3 stars rather than fewer. The ribs I had were just fat, the ceviche... More
