Amazing food, amazing place, amazing service. This is the kind of place where you enjoy every single bite. All dishes were beautifully plated and they were exquisite.

My wife and I went twice: once for dinner and once for lunch. Both were reasonably priced and very good. At dinner my wife had a roasted fish. It would have been noticeably excellent at a three-star Michelin restaurant. What I had was good, too....We came back the next day and had Greek salads and hummus. Both were good, and the service and price were very reasonable. Bravi!More

Risotto with pelmenier mahi mahi recommended by the waiter. The plate was decorated nicely and in mouth-watering way. Dorado was cooked perfectly with excellent taste. Risotto was a good choice surrounded by butter sauce. Condiments were selected properly highlighting the taste of this portion.

Everything was not only fresh but cooked to perfection. My tenderloin you could cut with a spoon! The mahi risotto is also to die for. We will definitely frequent this place on our future trips to Costa!

The Bright White Building with lights twinkling upstairs and downstairs drew us to it. The welcoming upbeat greeting (in English once we said “Hi” instead of “Hola”), and the the fun bubbly personality of our waiter made us feel happy and at ease. The ambiance...and cleanliness was perfect. The drink menu so unique: rum with honey, fig, macadamia nuts was eye popping incredible at the first taste to the very last drop. The almond crusted sea bass with passion fruit sauce was fantastic with the cheesiest gratin potatoes. The ground beef gyro was a fantastic surprise with burt’s of flavor and fresh veggies. The presentation of the meals is a work of art. We have two more nights in Jaco. I want to go back two more times!! Great service too.More

My son (14) and I enjoyed the perfect lunch at Amara- the staff was friendly and the service was great. We shared an amazing healthy mediterranean style lunch.. Highly recommend.

My girlfriend and I have stumbled upon this restaurant by chance during our travels in Costa Rica, visiting Jaco town and what an experience that was. After several visits, I must say this restaurant is just on another level. What struck us the most was...that each component of various dishes we had was prepared/cooked correctly and that is how you measure perfection. The attention to detail in every dish here was astonishing to me. Presentation, texture, taste, everything was perfect and the quality was consistent in every single visit. Even the lemonades were made with the same level of skill, btw. the strawberry lemonde was to die for. The praise however does not end with the chef. The environment of the restaurant, the music playing in the background, the professional yet warm and caring attitude of the staff, the whole ambience was simply amazing. We have visited the restaurant 3 times in our last 2 days in Costa Rica and even got a dessert on the house. We chose a coconut custard and wow, I must repeat myself in a praise of the chef's skills. Sitting back home now, thinking about our stay in Jaco, I am so impressed by Amara. Certainly one of the biggest attraction of the town.
