Nice place for staying either during the day or night. I would say that during the daylight is awesome since it is placed directly over the sand the beach and you have a direct portrait of the sea.
The food was great and the staff...charming and kind.
WARN: The unique CON I can mention is the bottled water' price. We ordered two bottles, not being aware of its price, and they cost us 5,000 CRC ($8,20 USD)! They should alert about it due to not everybody wants to pay such amount for an 'Italian' water. Just to mention that a beer price was 50% less that the water.More
Be sure to stop here while in the area. We had one of our best meals of a two week stay along the Caribbean coast of CR and ended up eating here twice during our stay. The pasta was especially delicious and we enjoyed the...enthusiasm of the owner along with the private location of the restaurant.More
Great pizza! Best we had in Costa Rica! We love to eat local food but every once in a while you crave something different and pizza fills the void. This was true Italian pizza and I did not think the price was that bad considering...the ingredients are authenticMore
World class authentic Italian wood fire pizza. Lovely setting on the back patio in an architecturally designed building. Also a great Italian wine list and hand made cocktails - easily the best margarita in town (shaken on the rocks, not blended). We went back again...as the food was so delicious. Hence my 5 star rating.
But a few things to keep in mind:
1. Note that it’s quite expensive - we were ok with this as it’s high quality, but likely some people will be surprised. If you like dominos or have a gaggle of kids to feed then this isn’t for you.
2. The owner seems to be going for an upscale vibe which is accomplished by the setting and quality offerings on the menu, but less so by the children that were literally running amongst tables on both our visits. They weren’t doing any harm, it just seemed incongruent with the atmosphere (and price) of the place.
3. When it gets busy (and it will), the service slips. The owner genuinely wants to maintain a high standard of service which means he wants to do it all himself, and when it gets busy he simply can’t keep up with all the tables. Remember you’re in cahuita, enjoy your drink and relax.
Definitely worth a visit!More
Had an amazing dinner of pepperoni pizza and home made ravioli overlooking sunset over the waves. We came here on our last night in Cahuita and I wish I would have tried it sooner since we would have had several meals here! A little pricey...but definitely worth it for the setting and the quality of food. Good spot for kids too as there was a little swing set, multiple hammocks in the yard, and a few soccer balls.More
We were delighted to find pizza in Cahuita that was more delicious than in Italy! Authentic and savory! The veggie options were delicious and the crust was the perfect thickness. Our waiter spoke 7 languages and we got to chat about small villages in Italy....Delightful experience with a view on the ocean!More
We rented a house in Cahuita, and our property manager recommended that this was the best place to get pizza. We ate there the next night. The restaurant was clean, and the staff were friendly and professional. The pizza was delicious! We returned for takeout...on Superbowl Sunday. This is one of the few restaurants in Cahuita that accepts credit cards. Win/Win!More
