Like many places in Tamardino, El Pelicano is nice without being pretentious. It's situated right on the main boulevard, so you can watch the world stroll by as you eat. Service was impeccable and this was our best dinner value of the week. The ceviche...appetizer is not to be missed and the red snapper was probably swimming in the Pacific a few hours before it landed on my plate. Their steaks are also outstanding if you want a change of pace (we had one of each and were quite happy)More

Best part of this restaurant is the property. The restaurant looks nice, and the ambiance is good but that’s where it ends. We both ordered the ribeye and it was flavorless, quite bland. Service was quite slow.

We ate here twice while here in Tamarindo. The food was good. The place was clean. You have a nice place to sit and watch people walk by on their evening strolls. They accommodated my GF requirements. Also, on our second visit, they remembered that...I was GF. A lot of the restaurants in the area were shuttered due to COVID. In fact the resort and many places around town were very quiet. A lot of restaurants were closed. We would look on Trip Advisor for options for food. After finding a good option we would walk to the location only to find that the place was closed. El Pelicano adheres to CR COVID protocols.More

El Pelicano is a lovely open air restaurant with attentive staff and well executed seafood dishes. We enjoyed a mai tai and mojito that were perfectly made. Main courses of seafood risotto and snapper with mango salsa and coconut rice were absolute perfection. Covid safety...measures were well executed with tables spaced out and all staff wearing masks.More

We went there for a romantic dinner, we had a reservation, we had great service, filet mignon was tender, the rib eye was well cooked tasty but a bit tough. This was a pricey meal but the ambiance, quality of food and service was worth...it.More

We really enjoyed our dinner here tonight. The atmosphere is great, view of all the lights and people on the busy street. The food was good, fish was tasty and fresh! Service was good, but not quite as good As we had expected at such...a nice restaurant. Overall, we would return.More

We dined here on our last night in Tamarindo and we wish we had visited early as we would have returned. The staff did a great job and looked after us very well and were very attentive. The meal and drinks choice were very extensive...and we both went for steak and we were not disappointed. Before the meal we were offered a little taster and as one of the part was allergic to shellfish the staff went out of their way to get a vegetarian option which was a really nice gesture. When the bill came it was not one of the more expensive meals that we had during our stay and this was a pleasant surprise especially in view of the level of service we were given. The only downside was that before leaving was that my partner had to use the bathroom and she passed comment that it was not one of the cleanest.More
