I’ve had sushi at different places in Tamarindo and Santa Teresa. Wabi Sabi’s sushi is by far the best. I went there 3 times in 2 weeks and the owner is a very nice guy who clearly knows how to choose and store ingredients properly...and make decent sushi. Rice was not mushy like in most restaurants. Highly recommend.More

Wabi Sabi was lit, delicious sushi rolls and I got a really good chicken teriyaki bowl. Great food and great service at a cheap place. This is the perfect place to stop by to get some sushi and have a nice meal without spending a...ton of money. Definitely highly recommend this great spot.More

This sushi joint is probably some of the best sushi I’ve eaten, and trust me I eat it ALL the time! The owner is so nice and definitely ask him for his recommendations he can make you any roll you want! Fish is so fresh...and tender 🤤 loved this place! Probably gonna go back again tomorrow for lunch!More

We had a mix of sashimi, maki and rolls - everything was delicious. Proper sushi rice - tough to find in CR. We had awesome Margaritas too. Creative combinations on the menu for the more adventurous. My only drawback would be the amount of cream...cheese and crab stick (imitation crab) on the menu, lots of the rolls featured one or both. Not our thing so we stuck with salmon, tuna and shrimp. That being said, everything was really fresh and very delicious. Nice to see their cooking and prep areas were impeccably clean. Would definitely recommend this place.More

Here we are, our first full day with our teen & tween kids in Tamarindo and of course we overdid the sunshine a bit (even after religiously applying reef safe sunscreen)- got a little burnt and were seeking fresh sushi and shade- preferably indoors with...air conditioning. There were 2 choices in close walking distance from where we were staying and only one had indoor seating-Wabi Sabi Sushi. It didn't look like much from the outside as it was in a strip mall set back from the street a tiny ways- very unassuming, but Marco greeted us outside the door and kindly offered a glace at the menu (even though we weren't ready to come in and eat for another couple of hours). Wabi Sabi offered both indoor and outdoor seating- there were larger tables outside, but since our family of four wanted to eat indoors on this particular occasion, they promptly pushed a couple of tables together to accommodate us. The menu was pretty straightforward. A few cooked dishes, appetizers, some sashimi, nigri, maki, teppa maki, and some chef's combo plates, all with reasonable prices (for a very touristy area). The kids had fresh strawberry mango smoothies (so delish!) while we had cold sake & beer. We ordered a tropical tuna tartare, and a variety of rolls, nigri, and hand rolls. They were all artfully crafted and tasted fresh and flavorful! I had mentioned that we eat sushi often back home and would love some local flavors and Marco suggested the Iguana Roll. The sweet & savory blend of plantains & eel sauce were a huge hit with our whole family! To top off the experience, the owner stopped by the table to greet us, introduce himself and to welcome us back. He and the entire staff was warm, welcoming and treated us like family. Don't let the simple decor and strip mall location deter you- you will be pleasantly surprised at the outstanding service and mouthwatering menu! We will definitely be back.More

The service was horrible. The location was horrible as well. You are eating in a parking lot next to a subway and an ATM. However, our sushi was really good. I would honestly recommend another sushi place such as bamboo sushi or somewhere that has...much better ambiance and service if you want sushi. The tastes are not worth the pain.More

Small spot in a parking lot but what it lacks in size and scenery it makes up in food and service. We had the spring rolls and spicy edamame to start, nigiri and sashimi and the spicy tuna and panko crusted salmon rolls. Everything was...good. The sushi rice in tamarindo is a bit different than those in NA might be accustom to but doesn’t detract from the taste. Would recommend for sushi in tamarindoMore

I had a salmon and a tuna roll alongside a seaweed salad with tuna. Everything was amazing. PLUS! It's right across from Hotel Diria so it couldn't be more convenient.

I ate here with some of my friends on our trip through Costa Rica. The nigiri and rolls were amazing and our waiter was incredibly friendly/welcoming- he really made the experience for us.
