Service was good. Food was just alright for the price paid. We went to other less expensive places that were much better.

Beautiful views and a superb staff. The sea bass the simple pasta were good. The steak and the lobster pasta were unfortunately below average.
The homemade paste was fabulous as were the steaks. Service was spectacular. Our dinner for 5 which included dessert and one bottle of wine was $700
My husband and I stayed at the Springs Resort and Spa. Among the many dining options is Las Ventanas, the only restaurant where a reservation is required. The hotel was really quiet so we didn't quite understand why...until after our first meal. We were the...first guests at 6:30 pm. It's already dark, and there's no view of the volcano at that time but we were seated at a nice table near the window. There was soft lighting and elegant, smooth jazz playing in the background. A handful of other guests arrived later. Our server Luis provided excellent recommendations for bottles of wine, starters (the grilled romaine salad is to die for!), and confirmed that our entree selections were among the favorites. Indeed, the beef tenderloin dish and the blackened sea bass dish were amazing!! Luis and the assistant Fabiola provided the perfect level of attentiveness during our meal. We returned for our second and third dinners and were equally impressed each time. Now we understand and appreciate why reservations are required -- so the team can prepare to provide guests a great experience. We highly recommend Las Ventanas!!More
Springs Resort is a very exclusive property and this restaurant is located in it's main building. Views of the valley are spectacular. The style of the property is rustic and dated (reminds me more of the winter chalet built in 1980s.). Menu is on the...smaller side (which is perfectly fine if executed well) Food had some mediums and lows, but no highs .... Pasta was well prepared and tasty, pork belly was too cold and too lean (I'm pretty sure it was not a belly). Seafood dish was so oversalted I could not eat it. This is where their service was tested. They apologized and offered to bring me a new dish. I declined because it was getting late and I didn't want my family to wait another 20 min for my entree to be re-made. They took the charge for this dish off my bill. I didn't try dessert but others enjoyed it.More
We enjoyed the food - particularly the roasted sea bass and coffee crème brulee! The squid ink spaghetti was very good too - homemade pasta and seafood but a bit salty. The House Malbec by the glass was smooth and delicious. The service was great...and, typical of everywhere at the Springs, very warm and friendly.More
First of all, the atmosphere is fabulous!! You look out windows and see the view. We ordered a grilled salad, pasta with this fabulous tomato sauce, sea bass, and child's chicken fingers. The bread came out with 2 dipping sauces. Our waitress was the most...adorable lady and everything she recommended we loved! The service was THE most outstanding! I thought the prices were fair for a fine dining! Especially when you fly out of Liberia and your lunch that is to go consisting of 3 personal pizzas, and wings were $65, it is a steal! I am in love with this restaurant! I read reviews on slow service, but that was not the case with us! They were on the ball! I miss this hotel and restaurant!More
The Springs resort is gorgeous. Had a good drink before dinner. The restaurant was overpriced and very average.... Expensive to get to as well, if you are off property. Eat in La Fortuna for a better meal!
A group of us wanted to see the Springs Resort so we made reservations at Las Ventanas for an evening meal. The resort is beautiful as is the restaurant. Our table of 6 was one of 3 tables occupied so this was not a busy...night. To begin with our waitress was friendly and attentive enough, but as the night lingered on, we found ourselves having to search for her or some of the other waiters if we needed something. It was a long wait between courses and several steaks had to be sent back. When we were done with our meal, we went ahead and called our taxi as it is a long trip down a very rough dirt road to get to the Springs, but the taxi still had to wait on us because we had to search for someone to bring us our check. All in all I would not recommend dining here.More
This is the reservation only, air conditioned restaurant at The Springs Resort. The view during the day is beautiful, at night we could only see some city lights in LaFortuna. Our waiter/s were very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was served without...a long wait and was delicious. The prices were very reasonable. This was the best meal we had at The Springs, if we had stayed longer we would have eaten here again.More
