Our breakfasts, included in our stay, were the best meals we ate in this restaurant. We ate dinner one night during our stay at Arenal Kioro Suites & Spa. The food was okay, but was in not way worth the price. My seafood pasta was...okay, but no one else at the table cared for the food, and my daughter couldn't eat her steak (and she loves steak!). The staff was gracious and provided good services, but I hope they work on their menu and make some improvements. The hotel in general is lovely, and an amazing restaurant would really make it the perfect place to stay.More

Loved all our dinners here - since we stayed at Kiori hotel it was easy to do that. However, the breakfast buffet was quite delicious with many choices..and of course, how could you not like the coffee.

We pass by to have dinner, this restaurant is really cozy. The food was delicious. It has a big window right in front of the volcano. To have lunch will let you see this majestic colossus. The service was good. The hotel looks very cool.

We had several breakfasts and one dinner here. Our waiter was especially accommodating and the food was good, if not great.

Super friendly waiters, recommended a wine not on the list that was good. We had scallops as appy- yummy, and wife had a wonderful beef carpacchio. Main course was seafood linguine for me in a creamy sauce, loaded with shellfish of all kinds. Special tenderloin...out of this world. No bugs in February. Great!More

Before posting this review, I happened to read the one before about all the bugs and I started laughing because we had dinner there twice this week and all we could talk about was how there where practically no bugs despite the windows being wide...open and we being in the middle of the forest. So maybe the bug situation depends on the time of the year but we had none. Anyways, as for the food it was delicious. We had chicken caribeno, grilled tuna, baby beef tenderloin, grilled seafood with Bechamel Sauce and the Frutti do Mare Fettucine. Al these dishes were delicious and presented beautifully. The sea bass ceviche was also great. Service was average but not great but the servers were helpful with recommendations. All and all We were pleased with both our visits. Now the breakfast buffets are amazing. Wide variety of Costa Rican foods as well as traditional breakfast meals are served. Highly recommend breakfast.More

We were taken to this restaurant for dinner by Swiss Travel on the Arenal Rainforest Hike & Hot Springs Tour. Worst dinner experience. The steak was chewy, the pork tasted much better with out the sauce which was really horrid. Bugs were flying every where...in and around our meals. Two couples sitting at the end of our table and asked to be moved as the bugs where in abundance where they were sitting and the service staff had a little attitude in moving them. The restaurant was nice in decor but that is just about all that it had going for it, and to top it off I ended up getting sick after eating there. I was fine my whole trip until I ate there. I would not recommend this restaurant. Come on Swiss Travel do better in your selections.More

We stayed at the Kioro, so we had breakfast included. We were surprised that it was very good for a buffet. They had a very large selection of hot entrees, mostly local specialties but they did offer pancakes or french toast, too. The egg station...was great and the cook was very friendly. Lots of fresh fruit, pastries, cold cereal, yogurts and even cheeses and deli meats. We also ate here for dinner one night. The dinner menu is a little on the higher end side, but the food was very good and nicely presented. I tried the Kioro chicken, which included a blackberry sauce and a mango sauce (separately). It was quite good. They also have a kids menu. When my daughter ordered the chicken nuggets, I thought they would be the frozen, reheated kind. Instead, she was brought a plate of real chicken, lightly breaded, and absolutely delicious.More

Typically we avoid hotel restaurants, but we were only at the Kioro for one night and didn't have much choice. As it turns out, this was one of our better meals in Costa Rica. They have a steak made with a coffee, cream and wine...sauce that was nothing short of unbelievable. Prices were reasonable. We were here after dark, but there is a good view of the volcano if it is still light out. Service was a little spotty which is the reason they didn't get the fifth star.More

This restaurant at the Hotel Arenal Kioro is open for breakfast and dinner. The buffet breakfast is very good with varying options and includes an omlette station. Dinner was great with a guitarist providing some nice music. The beef with the coffee reduction was good...and slightly sweet. The windows blocked some of the view of the volcano and there were few Costa Rican style dishes. Good if you are craving something more American.More
