I would actually give them 4.5 stars if I could (only because I reserve 5 stars for truly exceptional restaurants). My husband and I came here for lunch. He had a burger which he said was very good and I had the empanadas. The empanadas...were absolutely delicious but beware they are the size of your face. I ordered two picturing the size I get at many US restaurants were they are more of an appetizer than a full meal but I definitely should have stuck with one. I also got the macadamia cake (before I saw the size of the empanadas) which was moist and delicious. The customer service was also great, quick, and kind. Overall I would definitely go back.More

Besides good coffee, the food has been consistently good. The chicken la plancha is delicious and the vegetables are very fresh and yummy. The macadamia cake is worth a try. I was more than pleasantly surprised when it tasted better than it looked for I...was captivated by how pretty the cake was in the display case.More

Best coffee in San Carlos. Great pies and two pages of hot and cold coffee drinks! Empanadas very good!

We had chocolate shakes, and we asked our server to add banana which he seemed very happy to do. They were delicious! I had fish nuggets, and it was really just overcooked dried out breaded over blobs of cardboard. Have the drink, then boogie on...down the road.More

Huge, fresh salads and ginormous quesadilla. Cold Coca-Colas too! Friendly and English speaking. At least enough to order and pay.

Don’t wanna revisit here. It looks exotic but that’s all. It’s just crowded with POOR service crews.

We're vegetarian and there were a number of options available. The burritos were delicious and the waiter very friendly and smily.

Small little place with great costa rican (I guess) coffee, delicious deserts and a cool atmosphere.

We had a two stop in La Fortuna at lunchtime and decided to eat a quick lunch here before exploring the sights and shops that the town has to offer. Unfortunately that plan soon collapsed as it took us the full two hours to order,...receive the food and finally pay due to poor service that we were actually worried we might miss our pickup. After a short wait we ordered a burger, Quesadilla and local coffee chorreador. Friends at the same table asked for a separate order opting for just cakes and coffee on a separate bill. The coffee arrived after another short wait but the warnings were there already and by the time the food arrived all the coffee was already drunk. The food was very good and enjoyed by all but as we were already clock watching we didn’t have time to savour it and ate it at a quicker pace than we would have liked. However this was where the fun started. The person at the till in front of us was questioning his bill which took an eternity to resolve before we could get served. When we did we found out that one bill had one item on it from the other party at the table and theirs had an item that no one at our table had ordered or received. It took three members of staff considerable effort to correct this and reissue the bill and that was with us having a local guide able to speak fluent Spanish to assist. As this was still technically the area’s low season I dread to think how they will cope once the tourist numbers go up. Hopefully this was just a bad day and they were training new staff ahead of the high season start the month after.More

We ate here twice on our trip! The coffee was great and so was all of our food. We found it by mistake as soon as we got in to town and decided to go back on our way out as it was so good....Definitely try the banana coffee drink!More

No I think it was red. It was more like tobasco than salsa. It had big slices of onion in it. Maybe peppers too.
