The restaurant is off the beaten path, and was empty when we arrived at 7:00 on a Friday night (blame COVID!). Menu has lots if tempting choices, but we ended up ordering the chicken with shrimp fajitas, tuna with shrimp, and vegetable fajitas. Huge servings....Very attractively and appealingly presented. Delicious! We shared a dessert of pineapple flambé. It will be tempting to return again tomorrow!More

We found it by chance when we were looking for Rancho Perla... it's actually the same place. The place is amazing, very spacious and well cared, it has a beautiful garden that I would love to visit for lunch, we went there for dinner. The...food was delicious, with very good sizes... and what is even better a fair price! You must visit this place if you are around we'll certainly go back.More

Haute cuisine? No. Everything made well to our requests and served to us by a staff who was very accommodating and took EXCELLENT care of us? Definitely. One warning ... just be careful when ordering the steak - delicious but the serving was HUGE so...plan accordingly! We didn't realize this and ordered some appetizers and consequently felt VERY guilty when we didn't finish the steaks! Good wine list as well to choose from and their bartender made some perfectly balanced mojitos to start the night!More

We discovered Restaurants SelvaRustica, which was formerly known as Rancho Perla, on our last night in La Fortuna, and we both agreed that had we found it earlier, we would have eaten there every night. We arrived in the mid to late afternoon, so we...were the only ones there. The grounds are beautiful, and Señor Perla provided us prompt, friendly, and professional service. As if that wasn't enough, the food was wonderful! My husband ordered the tenderloin tips in jalapeño sauce, and I ordered the grilled tuna filet with garlic and wine. Both arrived beautifully presented with perfectly steamed vegetables and a little volcano of mashed potatoes with sour cream. My husband's steak and my tuna were perfectly cooked. Señor Perla brought a bottle of their house pepper sauce, and it was delicious. We also enjoyed the hierba buena lemonade and the strawberry lemonade which we ordered with minimal sugar, and the sweetness was just right. We have lived in Costa Rica almost six years, and this was one of the best meals we've had here. Highly recommended!More

Husband said best steak he's had in Costa Rica. I had a perfectly cooked, very tasty tuna filet with potato and veggies, and our daughter had a chicken sandwich. Everything exceeded our expectations. And yummy garlic bread, too! Very spacious open air dining, and Covid...safe place to eat.More

During our stay at La Fortuna, we were on the search for a vegetarian option and at the Rancho Perla (new name: Selva Rustica) we were more than happy with what we found. The food was so delicious (Fajita Vegetable and Empanadas with Spinach and...Mushrooms). As a starter, we enjoyed the garlic bread (for free). The waiters are very cautious (have a mask on and they make sure all guests wash their hands before seated). Unfortunately for them, we were the only guest due to the pandemic. This restaurant deserves better and we hope that more guest can enjoy the great service in the future again. We will be there tomorrow again before we will go further north.More

Excellent restaurant - from steaks to seafood - a good unusual choice. Large wine list and drink selection. Chosen by the guide on the trip, they cater for small or large groups.

We came here as a small group on a recommendation from our tour guide earlier in the day. The restaurant is a little off the main road, down a medium-length dirt driveway without any lighting. So yes, it was pitch black on our walk there,...but we never felt unsafe (even as solo women). We were greeted by lovely staff who served us quickly and offered us free freshly baked garlic bread (yum!). Interestingly, when we arrived two large tour buses were already seated, though we ended up being served our food before them. My friends loved their three seafood appetizers and my curry rice main was also fabulous. Note the meals here are HUGE – consider sharing a main if you also order an appetizer. The restaurant itself is housed in a huge open space and offers a pleasant atmosphere. There’s music overhead (not too loud), as well as numerous TV screens showing various sports. Prices are excellent and the wait staff were more than happy to split our table’s bill between the four of us, for which we were so grateful. At the end of our meal, the staff called a taxi for us to get back to our hotel which was a fair way out of town. So sweet!More

This place is very nice. Set a few hundred yards down away from the main drag in La Fortuna. At first I was a little off-put as there were two large tour buses in the parking lot and even though this place does seem to...cater to larger tour groups (not usually my thing) -the food and service we had was outstanding. And the place is sort of set nicely in the natural surroundings. We even had a visit next to our table (a few feet away) of a beautiful green red-eyed tree frog.More
