This is a great little dive restaurant with an awesome brunch. Great Bloody Mary's with simple but good bar food. It's a nice place for a good local beer and good simple meal. But get there early because parking is brutal, very tiny lot.

We were warned about the parking and it's crazy jacked up but oh well. Menu offers many choices for sandwiches and burgers amongst other stuff. I opted for the Bayou Burger. It was a fresh hand patty burger with fixins galore. I even think the pickle was grilled. Idk but it was some kind of good. I also chose the... More

We were in town for the Birmingham Bowl and based on tripadvisor reviews have it a try, awesome burgers, I had the Cajun, and my Dad had the Green Pimp, we were both overly satisfied. My son's enjoyed thier kids meals as well.

The parking area is a declivity, a steeply sloped driveway which ends in a few spots to the side of the restaurant. It occurred to me that this was a useful feature for this neighborhood cafe because the slope serves as a real time, functional sobriety test. If upon exiting you are able to amble over to your parked vehicle... More

I asked the front desk of the Hilton Garden Inn of Liberty Park in Birmingham, AL where her favorite restaurant was. She told me Mudtown. I had the best Monte Cristo sandwich and my wife had delicious shrimp and grits. They had a large beer selection of local brews on tap. The tart rasberry thing I tried was really good.... More

This place is back behind the Summit, you'd never know about it unless you were a local or found it on Trip Advisor! The food is fantastic, and the people are very friendly as well. Try the wings, you won't regret it!

Seems like a popular joint for local business lunch groups. Food is average and service varies, having been here a few times, sometimes excellent sometimes not so great. Seems friendly enough though. Seating is a bit tight, though there is outdoor seating as well. Parking is of course an interesting experience ;) But great location, close to lot of businesses.

Had the Cajun burger with the fried pickles on it with spicy mustard. Very tasty. Staff was friendly. I will be back many times to come.

I finally tried Mudtown on the recommendation of one of my work associates. The Good--Cozy atmosphere, not crowded on a Sunday at 3 pm. Wait staff all friendly and courteous, service was very good . Great beer list, local stuff. The Bad--food was overpriced and very ordinary. I ordered a shrimp po-boy....Shrimp mostly bread, tiny frozen shrimp, each one nickle-sized,... More

Very good. My second visit here. Our group enjoyed fried pickles, fried green tomatoes, burgers (including "The Big Green Pimp Burger"...), blackened fish sandwiches, fries, sweet potato chips, and friendly service. It's small, so you might have to wait, and like the other reviewers said, parking sucks. But it's worth it.
