A local fave for breakfast and always packed. The food is delicious and freshly prepared to perfection, The staff will recommend daily specials and new items which means you can't go wrong!!! This is a must for family, friends or a business setting as they make sure you have lots to drink and eat.

Waysider has been a breakfast tradition for many years in Tuscaloosa, and is probably one of the oldest restaurants still around. The biscuits are what people come for, they're homemade and absolutely delicious. They've started serving beignets from the extra biscuit dough as well. The hashbrowns are my family's favorite and the food is cheap, but oh so good. It... More

You won't beat the welcoming atmosphere or the biscuits. Other meals are fine, but breakfast is famous for good reason. Ask to have your waitress point out The Bears traditional table. He was a regular. Roll Tide.

Cute little restaurants on the outskirts of Downtown Tuscaloosa famous for their breakfasts. Delicous little donuts are served with every breakfast. On weekends the wait is long, but during the week you can usually get seated right away.

We have eaten at some really terrific little local breakfast joints in Tuscaloosa, sadly the Waysider is not one of them. Long wait, flies buzzing in the dining room, oily biscuits, half cooked hashbrowns, tasteless gravy and super salty and over-cooked ham. The Waysider might be a local institution, but we will will not return.

We ate here during UA move in with our son in August. Based on the reviews, we decided it would be worth the long wait. Well, it was not. First of all, the waitress we had was also cashing out customers and playing hostess so it was obvious when those who sat after us received their food long before us,... More

We were traveling to Tuscaloosa to move my daughter into her dorm. I checked on line to find a Sunday morning breakfast brunch for all of the family. This one seemed like a good choice...we didn't get the brunch, but it was a good late breakfast. We had a little of an issue trying to find the parking in the... More

We stumbled onto this local restaurant while looking for a place to take our son to breakfast. We were thrilled with it! We had the pancakes (homemade batter), steak and eggs, bacon and eggs, grits, biscuits (homemade), and these amazing potato skins. There was not a bite of food left on our plates. If you are in Tuscaloosa, you really... More

If you are looking for a real southern breakfast, this is the place. They have mouthwatering biscuits, grits, eggs and very good smoked sausage. Took my family here and had a great meal.

The Waysider has been a staple in Tuscaloosa for many years. We ate there when I was young, through college and now as a returning alum. Their biscuits remain the best in the world (literally) and they recently introduced beignet's. The decor remains the same with the regular addition of Alabama Football prints. The staff adds to the experience with... More
