So this place is suppose to Cantonese food. In China they do things different - so the crab vermicilli we ordered was extremely fragrant and had a really thick taste - reason we arre guessing is that its fried in lard or butter. The taste was really special = but obviously only a limited amount we could eat because it... More

We ate here a couple of times as it was located close to the hotel we were staying at. Food was very tasty and good value for money. Very large menu ranging from very high-end to more casual items like roast meats, fried rice, etc. Everything we tried was very good. Special mention for the cucumber salad and the roast... More

Looking for a place to have supper or late dinner where most restaurants would be closed. Modern Chinese cafe located on Heng Shan road serving small dishes soups casserole or just porridge. Menu comes in English Japanese and Chinese. Friendly and helpful staff who speaks English. Not a fast food joint. Authentic cuisine and good value for money.

Taken here for dinner by a friend who was born and raised in Shanghai. She ordered too many dishes for us to try than I can remember but a few do stand out. The calamari was fried but not greasy and dipped in wonderful spices. The lightly stir fried pea pods were among the best I have ever eaten.

Staying in Zhongshan Park

Neighbourhood Profile
Zhongshan Park
The residential and commercial areas around the beautiful grounds of Zhongshan Park have never been considered particularly fashionable by a majority of Shanghai’s foreign residents, but plenty of expats do choose to live here. The park itself is a huge draw, providing a pocket of serenity in the middle of the metropolis. The area has its share of trendy shops with wares that can’t be found elsewhere, delicious restaurants with food ranging from fancy to affordable, and great hidden bars. Rents are also cheaper here than in other neighborhoods with the same conveniences. Aside from the obvious attractions, with its neighborhood fix-anything shops and pop-up street stalls that sell anything you need, you’ll never sacrifice Western comforts.
