First I am not really sure why they opened a Din Tai Fung in Superbrands Mall and then another across the street in IFC. As the place was completely empty at peak dinner time it is hard to believe this is an overflow issue. Their...More

Located in an enormous mall in the Pudong financial district. Oddly, there are 2 more restaurants nearby within several blocks. I have eaten in Din Tai Fung in Beijing and Hong Kong. I fear it has suffered a little from over exposure. The menu was...More

This was the first of two branches I visited whilst in Shanghai for work. The other was over the road at the ITC mall. We arrived just as they were closing but they were happy to squeeze us in. Dumplings were great as were truffled...More

As I stared at the mall map at the entrance, one of the mall attendants asked if I needed help and what I was looking for. “Din Tai Fung” - I said. “Why are all foreigners coming to this mall looking for this restaurant?” -...More

When people speak of Shanghai’s futuristic skyline,
it’s the financial district of Luiazui they are
speaking of. Shanghai’s most iconic buildings are
located in close proximity to Lujiazui’s elevated ring
road and swanky eateries. Sky-high shopping and chic
bars fill the highrises around the area. As is
characteristic of a world-class financial business
district, some of Shanghai’s best malls and hotels can
