For 149¥ you will get a premium buffet plug coffee and tee (all-you-can-eat-and-drink) and one a la carte dish. It starts at 11, book ahead as it is always packed on weekends, and try the Birchermuesli, it is fantastic! One of my favorite Sunday hangover hangouts! As a plus Zhongshan park is right next to it, so after eating you... More

The menu had only western dishes on it and I was quite disappointing not to see any local Chinese offerings. And I found the food very expensive too. More suited for western tourists.

This is a joint that staff in my office regularly visit during in lunch hour. They do a great 50yuan lunch combo which includes sides, soup and a drink. Its also a great place to meet for a beer after work, always a lively crowd with big screen TV's showing sport, pool tables and western beers on tap. Always leave... More

I have been to the Penta Hotel cafe Today. We arrived with a friend and after ordering a few cafe/tea by a good/ok staff and going to the buffet a employee asked us to pay the deal. 128 Kuai per person yes...what is not written anywhere is what is really included in the deal...''European-style lazy brunch features an array of... Food was good, nice ambience, and friendly staff. Breakfast was excellent, so many choices, from all over the world, hot and cold. We would definitively recommend this hotel and its restaurant.

What a find! Pentalounge in pentahotel Shanghai right next door to Changning Park offers a great value for money menu with excellent comfort food. I tried a great cheese burget the other day, the vegetable panini is terrific, tomato soup delicious and a great ceasar salad. They also serve some good local and asian dishes and the service - by... Staying in Zhongshan Park

Neighbourhood Profile
Zhongshan Park
The residential and commercial areas around the beautiful grounds of Zhongshan Park have never been considered particularly fashionable by a majority of Shanghai’s foreign residents, but plenty of expats do choose to live here. The park itself is a huge draw, providing a pocket of serenity in the middle of the metropolis. The area has its share of trendy shops with wares that can’t be found elsewhere, delicious restaurants with food ranging from fancy to affordable, and great hidden bars. Rents are also cheaper here than in other neighborhoods with the same conveniences. Aside from the obvious attractions, with its neighborhood fix-anything shops and pop-up street stalls that sell anything you need, you’ll never sacrifice Western comforts.
