what can I say... we ordered Nasi padang, the beef was tasteless and hard, and boiled vegetable with peanut sauce on top, not good combination in the dish. Nasi uduk which they described on menu "coconut rice"... hardly to taste the coconut. price actually is fine, concerning quantity of the food, but the taste average, just average! overall is disappointment,... I enjoyed this restaurant. The ambiance was relaxed and the food was tasty. The appetizers were particularly good and the prices were reasonable. The service was not great, but that's fairly standard in Shanghai.

The ambience, the food, the service, everything about Bali Bistro screams the authentic Indonesian experience. Not only was the food great, the people are very friendly as well. They seem to update their special menu quite frequently, and a lot of times I visited the restaurant, part of the restaurant is booked for private events. I guess the uniqueness of... More

The service was good and the food was fine. It did not particularly stand out, but it was a nice change of pace from the local Chinese. The music was a bit loud the night that we were there, but the wait staff was efficient, the meal with one drink was something like 330 rmb. The highlight was the variety... More

I made a reservation and was pleasantly greeted by name when I walked in. The service was good. The menu has so many options, it took me some time to decide. Portions were big and not pricey. I ordered a sangria as my drink and it was really good. Overall, an amazing dining experience and I will be back. The... More

It claims to be the winner of SH restaurant week but a disappointment to me Location is good but the restaurant has the restaurant is almost vacant at working days nights except for 2 tables of clients (including us). The food might be typical Indonesia style but not tasty. also very limited selection. Service is good.

I had the lamb. It was good. Ask for a rice to come with. The manager speaks English. The staff is very good (very politely).

Their Platter Sate and Beef Rendang is a must try! I love the yellow rice, it's so aromatic.. The place is clean and organized, the staff are friendly and english too. I recommend this place for those who craves Indonesian food.

Staying in Jing'an

Neighbourhood Profile
The heart of this neighborhood is the Jing'an Temple, while the main artery of excitement and entertainment is West Nanjing Road. Close to the Former French Concession, the area has a similar draw for foreign residents but displays a more commercial character. Large, flashy malls, luxe residential high-rises and trendy nightlife areas can be found along West Nanjing Road, but areas off the busy street have the same quiet cafes and independent boutiques that many people think of as distinctive of the Former French Concession. Jing'an is less encased in amber, though, and it's possible to immerse yourself more fully in the energy of China's most bustling metropolis here.
