Leaving People's Square Station Exit 11 after 100 meter turning left into the park you reach Barbarossa. I sat down at the bar and had a few beer for approx. 10€ each. Very expensive but not unusual in SH. The quality of sound and choice of the music was IMHO very good. Not this typical soft lounge sound, but more... More

Cream Girls afternoon tea, a simple delight! My touring group have afternoon teas around the globe, in every country we work and I found this little gem in the People's Park situated on the edge of the pond. It was an inexpensive afternoon tea and one is there for the picturesque view. Compared to afternoon teas around the world this... More

It's an amazing venue and if you want to get good grub get some seats on the first floor. Service could be better if you're unlucky enough to get a trainee server. The grilled fish was well done, bouncy meat. For drinks head upstairs to the bar. Moroccan inspired ambiance.

Have a stop by for a lunch or a brunch during the day or simply a drink all day long. This is a good looking and great service place. After walking through the busy streets of Shanghai downtown, this a good place to relax, in the middle of green people's square, where you can also have a nice walk.

Good service, tasty food, lovely atmosphere. I went on Sunday and did a late lunch there. It wasn't pick hour but the house was more than 70% full. Still, the service was good and the food came on time.

went there with three couples during Shanghai Dining Week and enjoyed a 5 course dinner. Food quality was execellent and very tasty. We took two bottles of Spanish wines with fair prices. After dinner we changed to roof top bar for a drink. Bar is very well equipped and arabian / spanish style decorated. Shishas available. Mixed people.

There is, indeed, real magic in the ambience of this restaurant in an arabic (?) style beautiful house inside the park. We went in couple, ordered and shared many starters (to remember: beef salad), and shared the roasted suckling pig' (deserved to be called signature dish!) which made us marvel. Total a bit less than 800 rmb for two (but... More

Really cool and you most likely won't stumble across it if you don't know about it. A multi level bar & restaurant. If you can find a seat head all the way to the rooftop at night for a drink.

Staying in People’s Square

Neighbourhood Profile
People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
