We hunted high and low for the Riverine Coffeehouse and eventually found the building it occupied completely empty and undergoing refurbishment. We could not ascertain if it was re-opening as the Riverine Coffeehouse or not. Ignore my ratings as we obviously din't eat here but have to put a rating in to submit the review.

Visited twice - loved atmosphere outdoors on riverside watching boats going up and down / lights from Chonese lanterns / fireworks ... Great chicken curry - had it twice . Huge portion . Cold beers / hit breezy night . Couldn't beat it . Waitress was lovely - very pleasant . Would highly recommend it .

Spent a month in Malaysia and this was the best laksa I had. So fresh and full of flavour. My order was taken quickly and food served soon after piping hot after just being cooked. So cheap too @ 4.5ringgit! Beautiful location on the river too. I'd say this place serves some of the best food in Melacca.

we are staying at Wayferer and this place, also on the river, is practically next door. The menu looked good so we sat looking at the water and enjoyed our dinner: Nyonya laksa and Nyonya chicken curry washed down with a few tiger beers. Friendly service, highly recommended.

We went here on a rainy night so couldn't sit out on the canal, but that would have been wonderful. There was not much atmosphere inside and we were the only people there. However, we enjoyed our night anyway because the food was so delicious. We ordered the ayam ponteh. I can't compare this to other versions of this dish... More

Made the decision to visit this place based on the good reviews. As our coach reached malacca pretty late, we came here for lunch around 2.30pm on a Sat. We had the whole place to ourselves even though some of the popular food outlets like the chicken rice had long snaking queue. We wanted to dine by the river but... More

Food there is pretty decent beers are slightly more expensive then neighbouring cafes. Overall we enjoyed sitting by the river with a few cold ones waving to passersby.

Walking so much with my elderly parents and we're told that their lunch is not ready yet, and from what I observed, their food menu is on display at the entrance. I wonder when will they start their lunch time.
