We ate here many times while staying at the Equatorial. The weekend buffets were great value. It's difficult to understand why the hotel closed its best attraction.

Absolutely amazing food. Best sashimi I've ever had. Staff are professional and very well informed and trained. They carry their own brand of soy sauce with stand and low sodium. Wasabi is off the charts. Look to spend more than rm250 for 2 people. Expensive but definitely worth it, hard to visit other jap restaurants after kampachi.

Tried both ala carte and buffet before, both were equally disappointing. Sashimi was cut the way it was not supposed to cut, the fish was not even fresh to begin with. Toriyaki was too dry it was like chewing a really overcooked piece of beef yet it's actually chicken. Presentation, texture and flavor of the food are all below standard.... More

Nice spread with fresh oysters! Price reasonable. Good spread of Japanese food but service a bit slow.

They had the worst tempura ever. When the sogginess was reported to staff, I was told that that is the way the chef serves it. Hmmm not good customer service. Soggy tempura is never acceptable

The tepanyaki is quite good, you get to choose ingredients you like and the chef cook it in front of you. They also make those little japanese pancake with red bean paste in it that Doramon like on the spot. There are quite a bit of selection for a small restaurant. Quite a popular dining location so if possible try... More

We had sushi of the chef's choice and green tea soba. The sushi wasn't very fresh, and the rice is too damp and sticky. Presentation is also messy. Soba was okay. Overall the food is acceptable but not awesome.
