Three of us rode the 50-odd Kms from Benaulim Beach to Galgibag Beach, specifically to eat at Surya's, Gordon Ramsay recommended, seafood restaurant. We ate mussels boiled/steamed, Goan style cooked oysters, and Goan style butter clams. We asked for three small plates and split the three dishes three ways. Delicious, fresh, and good value for money. We were, also, each... More

Out of the few cafés that are on Galgibag beach, Surya's is my absolute favourite, for many reasons. Firstly, Surya himself is a real character with a bright smile and plenty of charm, and he makes sure that he pays personal attention to every customer there. His menu is scruffy and so are the tables and chairs with random tablecloths... More

Seafood is top. You don't get it fresher or better anywhere else. 5 stars! Other food is a bit too touristic and not really spicy. 4 stars. The toilet is (even for indian standard) cruel. 2 stars maximum. But I prefer to eat and Surya is an excellent chef and always very friendly. Have a seat, enjoy the view and... More

Imagine half a dozen shaky plywood tables draped with cheap printed cotton fabric and two dozen tired ratan and plastic chairs in the middle of nowhere. Imagine waiting half an hour before someone takes your order, and then an hour to be served the food your ordered. Or some of it only. Or none if the place has more than... More

Went here yesterday after spending the afternoon on the beach. Travelled by Rickshaw from Patnem (300 rupees one way) and arranged a return pick up with the driver. The area doesnt have much and the cafe is at the southern end of the beach set back behind the tree line, nice and shadey. The crab, oysters and clams were amazing.... More

We visited this place twice for lunch ,my husband had oysters straight from the water and I had the best cheese omelette in India. The staff are happy and helpful would recommend hiring a motorbike, scooter or tuk tuk and visit this lovely beach where the turtles lay their eggs.

Friendly staff - they tried to sell us a whole fish, but we declined, taking instead a half the fish and some prawns, which made the meal more interesting. We asked for a bowl of chilli to dip in, which for me made the meal amazing. And in a wonderful location too, right on the beach, in a secluded part... More

i LOVE oysters!!! If you're a fan, too, do NOT miss coming here!! Fantastic raw oysters fresh from the sea. They were truly out of this world and I had to order more! We tried the fried ones, too and they were YUMMY! Also had a fantastic Goan fish curry and some refreshing cocktails. All served beachside with a view... More

We stayed in the beautiful hut just next door and ate here all the time, surya and Shailesh are really friendly and helpful. Surya took us fishing and helped us with booking tuktuks, taxis and renting scooters! They made us feel very welcome and the food was always amazing.

We were dubious about trying any of the beach shacks along the back of turtle beach after some poor experiences in Palolem. We shouldn't have worried. Surya the owner welcomed us into his restaurant and explained the fresh catch of the day and specialities. Our orders of fried mussels, goan fish curry and goan crab curry made with locally caught...
