Had lunch at Little Donkey, pretty good food. Had fried chicken, street corn and chipotle slaw. Ordered chips and salsa first of which they charge $2.75, Rojo sauce was ok not great but chips seemed almost a little stale and were served cold, not too impressed. Fried chicken was good as was chipotle slaw, the street corn was good. Service... More

Great little hidden place in the middle of Homewood. Serving sizes are just right and packed with flavor. Always a go to when guest are in town.

The restaurant still offers many of the same foods, which are good, but they have incrementally declined in that customers are now paying more for less food. They are nickel and diming customers over every little thing. They make you pay for chips and salsa. If you order queso or guacamole, they still make you pay for salsa. Sides no... More

Had the fried chicken which was delicious. Carrot salad and chipotle slaw were just too hot and I like spicy food, so disappointed with the sides which no one at our table ate.

From the moment we walked in the door until we left, we experienced the most amazing service. The way the entire staff seems to work together as a team to provide excellent service is so refreshing to see! It was an extremely busy evening because of Christmas and the restaurant was packed but we were greeted with smiles and kind... More

We were in Birmingham at lunch on a Sunday. We asked our son, who's a UAB student, about a good place to eat that we have never been before. He suggested Little Donkey. Wow, we were very happy we went. The food was great. The lunch menu was reasonable and service was spot on. We will return.

I had been to Little Donkey for lunch but this trip we took my wife there for the first time. The service was very good and the food was great. It was busy, but we got seated almost immediately. This time I tried the burritos, my wife had tacos and my daughter had the Mexican bowl. We were all very... More

Love the food and the drinks here! I seem to order the same thing every time I visit because it's so good that I haven't been able to make another choice yet. Nice friendly staff too which is an extra bonus.

It was early November and the weather was still warm enough to eat outside. I remembered seeing this place and actually decided to eat there based on outside seating. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. I would certainly eat here again!
