Afternoon tea at the Sea Lounge in Taj Mahal is a reasonably priced and pretty unique experience. I paid apx $80 for four people which included tea and snacks for all. The menu for tea alone runs to some four pages and then there is coffee if you prefer it or smoothies etc. The food menu is a little more... More

Fantastic experience. I'm surprised I never knew about this little gem. High tea also included Mumbai street food which was divine. Highly recommend if you can fit this into your day in Mumbai.

Taj Mahal Palace Hotel is an iconic place. The building and ambiance are second to none. My family and I have been going to the sea lounge whenever we visited Mumbai and had excellent service and the food quality had always been good. We visited the Sea Lounge yesterday again to relive the experience but walked away feeling rather underwhelmed.... More

We visited the Sea Lounge for some after dinner tea and drinks as a large group of friends. The entry to the lounge is through the legendary Taj Mahal 'Dome' staircase. Although I had heard very highly about the place, but I was rather left wanting for more when it came to service levels. The person who had to take... More

This is a pleasant coffee shop, exuding a quiet. calm vibe and we very much appreciated it after a hot, noisy, crowded walk through the historical centre. The tables by the window offer a great view of the Gateway of India and the harbour although they only sit 2 people.

We had been told to visit the Sea Lounge during our stay at the Taj. However, the venue was closed for private events for the first couple of days of our stay. We finally managed to visit the lounge for tea towards the end of our stay. As with all things at the Taj, the service was impeccable. We were... More

An iconic building & location. We had considered staying here but decided the Abode nearby would give us an equally good - if different - experience of Mumbai. We visited the Sea Lounge for cocktails & dinner. The cocktails, dinner & service from waiters did not disappoint. However we were particularly disappointed that the male maitre'd- who confirmed we would... More

The hotel decor is refined and luxurious and the Sea Lounge also offers wonderful views of the Gate of India and the harbour. The service as one would expect is discreet but always there when required. The high tea buffet offers an excellent choice of hot food, delicious sandwiches made to order, excellent hot cups of assorted teas and delightful... More

One of the finest restaurants that you can find and experience in Bombay with the breadth taking view and those warm memories ... the hot gossip , the arabian sea , the arabica coffee from Coorg , the medodious notes of the pianist !

Description
On the first floor of the Palace Wing, Sea lounge offers old colonial charm with art deco furniture and live Piano music enhanced by its spectacular view of the Arabian Sea. It is considered to be a city institution for traditional Afternoon Tea featuring an elaborate buffet spread of classic English delicacies and Local Indian favourites complemented with a selection of the world's finest teas and coffees. Sea Lounge is a favourite for its light lunch and dinner fare and Mumbai street food including Bhel Puri, Sev Puri, Kheema Ghotala Toastie and Vada Pav . In the evenings, we have a live crooner and pianist who's melodious tunes create the perfect mood for the night ahead. Guests may choose to opt for a quiet glass of Champagne or a cocktail as they watch the lights from the moving ships on the harbour.
