This eating place close to Chowpatty has excellent food mainly of the Gujarati variety. Strictly vegetarian. Prices are very reasonable and the portions adequate and filling. Service is good. Valet parking is an added convenience. Only downside is the cramped space inside. The restaurant is hugely popular and due to limited space inside, one has to put up with waiting... More

Located bang opposite the famous Babulnath Temple, Soam is the place to go for Gujarati food. They have the traditional favorites like Gatte ki Subzi, Shrikhand, Paanki, Satpadi Roti, Khichdi etc. and the menu can vary with season. I find that food at Soam can be inconsistent in quality and so prefer Swati Snacks over this place.

Serving authentic Gujarati delicacies, Soam is so popular that it is almost always over crowded with long queue of hungry guests. Unfortunately Soam doesn't take advance booking, making it very tiring. Still the quality of cuisine deserves at least one visit.

This is one of our fav restaurant near chowpatty. Serves only veg local fare- Gujarati and Maharashtrian! Very authentic food! No hard drinks and no non veg food here! Start off with different drinks like sugarcane juice, guava panna, Kala Khatta sarbat etc - very local to Mumbai. The starter platter gives a flavour of the city. Paankhi cooked in... More

Very Famous joint for vegetarian food lovers and has blend of Mumbai street food and Gujarati food. The options on the menu are many and you will be spoilt for choice. The portions are small so you end up ordering any dishes. Its fun coz you end up trying more variety. They have good options for people on a Fast... More

Situated right opposite Babulnath Temple, Soam is one of the most award-winning places with almost a perennial queue outside it at dinner time. Some of my college friends, who happen to be Gujarati, took me here. Now I am not very knowledgeable about authentic Gujarati cuisine (in general, the idea is that everything is a bit sweet) but they say that... More

We were out for a light lunch with an elder family member - steering clear of heavy and oily food - and found just the place in Soam. They dont take reservations so a wait is inevitable - but well worth your time. We passed the main dishes by & sampled a selection from the menu - our favourites were... More

Find the portions at Soam to be quite small so one always has to order a lot and it works out quite expensive for the kind of simple food they claim to have. Food is good though and there is mostly a queue and waiting involved.

Decent food and plenty of items for fasting people. In all a good choice to go if your fasting. Healthy alternatives are present for the junk items.
