Had heard lots about Leopolds before we went to Mumbai, with people telling me it was a must visit cafe. We managed to get in, although it was a close run thing as it was so busy and so we ended up in the upstairs area. Had a couple of beers and some Pepperpot chicken (highly recommended - would like... Had to stop by as we are at the taj hotel around the corner. Great for a beer or lassi after some shopping nearby. Some folks next to us got some great looking tandoori chicken which they said tasted really good!

What is all the hype about, full of young groups of local guys drinking beer, very loud, overall the food was pretty poor and the service appalling. The aim seemed to be to pack in as many people as possible and let them wait. Would not recommend. A huge menu.

We had to visit Leopolds, but were disappointed that it was so full downstairs we had to sit upstairs. Nevertheless, we had great company with some lovely Mumbaiites we met, and enjoyed (a pricey) beer, but at least we can say we've been!

The buzz at this Restaurant was just fabulous. One just revelled in the atmosphere and to add to it, the food was delicious as well. One wonders whether this is due to its past but after eating there it justifies its good rating. Good place to have your meal and just relax and enjoy.

We wanted to see the famous Leopold Café and initially planned to have lunch there. I have to say, I was pretty disappointed. It is a very dirty place and staff are unfriendly. Also, it was probably the most touristy place we went to in our four weeks in India. We ended up having a drink and then left. If... More

Leopold became famous after the book Shantaram, but you still eat very well! Please keep it up! Excellent tandoori chicken, excellent drink, a rich choice of traditional indian food.

I was not sure what to expect, after all the reviews and hype about this place. Firstly the place is small, service is slow, food is Ok, nothing to shout about. The atmosphere is busy, lively and filled with a variety of nationals. Also they only took cash, which is an issue at the moment in India. I will not... More

A must when visiting Mumbay. Serves a wonderful Butterchicken, accompanied with a beertower. i.e a glass/plastic tower containing between 1.5 og the bigger 3 ltr of beer. The interior still bear marks of the last attack by pak terrorist about 10 years ago. We were seated right under one of the bulletholes inside the restaurant. Altough the place was very... More

People from all over the world come here to eat. Although I do not eat meat my cousins love their non veg menu. You get Indian, Chinese and Continental too. Many people enjoy beer and snacks. In the afternoon it gets really crowded. When one goes shopping at Colaba Causeway then Leopold is always a stop for eating.
