I've eaten at "Chez Fouad's" on repeat visits to Chefchaouen over many years, the restaurant is in a basement below street level and when descending the steps a large display cabinet filled with the available food can be browsed before consulting the menu and ordering a meal. The restaurant specialises in seafood but other alternatives are available on request, no... More

Prices are excellent but food not fresh could be better. Clean french fries were fried half way and once ordered they were fried to be served.

Don't be intimidated by this basement restaurant outside of the medina! We stopped for lunch after a recommendation by our riad. They suggested that we try the fish and they were right - it was very good! Also, the vegetable couscous was the best we've had in Morocco so far. Some of the menu items may not be available that... We may not have ventured down here but for Begonia's recommend'n. Down some stairs near the Bab Souk, the restaurant is a tiled basic place (with a tv of course) but the fish counter shows off the very fresh fish and the kitchen is entirely open to view. The fish platter (chose what elements from the counter) was fantastic quality... More

We had roasted chicken and fried squid. They were. Tasty! It costs only 60 dh!! Don't expect service for foreigners. But it was a good experience.

Our hotel owner suggested lunch in this fish restaurant. We had to wait until 1PM for them to open, but it was worth a little wait. (later we learned that Moroccans eat lunch in the early afternoon.) The fish case was clean and appealing, so we pointed and selected a sautéed fish and a fried platter. The starter salad was... More

We tried out this restaurant at the recommendation of our hotel, who claimed that this served the best fish and seafood in town. Given Chefchaouen's proximity to the Mediterranean Sea, this restaurant was getting fresh seafood trucked in daily. The restaurant is 50m down the slope of Rue Tarik Ben Ziad leading up to Bab Souk and you can't miss... More
