The Shams Restaurant is located in the small Armenian town called: Anjar. It first opened in 1975 and now continues serve top food and continues to enlarge. It must have at least 4,000 seats thus making it one of the largest restaurants in Lebanon. I...had a very nice and relaxed lunch there after three business meetings in Beirut. The Shams Restaurant is always busy no matter which day of the week you visit. It took a bit too much time for the waiter to bring me the menu, but once I ordered the service was fast and professional. I started with the small Armenian Salad and then ordered my favorite fresh trout with a large portion of French Fries. The trout was really very moist and quite flavorsome. When I finished they then brought me a nice complementary fresh fruit plate. All-in-all this was a very pleasant and tranquil lunch. I look forward for my next visit to the Shams restaurant.More
We stopped here for a quick lunch after visiting the archeological park in Anjar. It was not really quick, unfortunately, the staff members serve local customers first and foreigners after,queue system does not exist. It was hard to communicate in English properly so I ended...up with different ingredients in my sandw that the ones I requested.More

I had a very good lunch here. I was particularly impressed with the wide variety of items on the menu. I had fried brains and a small fried bird. Both were very good and almost impossible to find in the US. The restaurant is huge...and wasn’t that crowded on a weekday. Service was very good. The restaurant is part of a much larger entertainment venue. It looked like a lot of fun - sort of a throwback to some resorts in the US in the 1970s. I’d love to see it on a weekend when it’s busier and has more going on.More

The cheese sprigrolls are the best in the world the fattouch is five stars and moelre the broasted is well cooked the ballon fries are only abaible at this restaurant and the shams homous is with vegtebals and theneh

Not many options near the Anjar fortress, and this massive foodcourt serves fine lebanese food. Obviously set up for huge tour groups, it feels rather empty when walking in with a small group. Service was a bit slow, food was decent though. Includes a wandering...Turkish coffee vendor and mobile magician, enhancing the feeling you’re eating in a massive tour group eatery.More
A huge (2000-3000 seat) restaurant in a complex that also includes a gas station, a bowling alley, a play area for kids, and even animal rides. The setting is beautiful and, despite the size, the service is impeccable. We were there with a group on...a tour that included lunch, so we weren't expecting much. Then the meze started to arrive ... thirteen dishes in all, including kibby balls, hummus and baba ghanoush, tabooli and fatoosh, grape leaves and koosa, olives, pickles, nuts, french fries (!!), and a couple delicious things we didn't recognize, not to mention three kinds of bread. We forced ourselves to go on to our entree - the mixed grill that included chicken, lamb, beef, and kofta. Just as we were wondering if we would actually be able to walk out the door, out cam the dessert: fruit, ice cream cones, chocolate-covered halvah, and coconut cake! We've traveled in many countries in the MIddle East and this is probably the best meal we've ever had in any of them - not just because of the quantity, but because of the quality. Every dish was excellent, and how often can you say that?More

Wonderful Setting wonderful food great service would have given them a 5 of 5 but we never got the meat. By the time they asked our order everyone was stuffed and no one wanted to eat anymore. Be prepared to settle in and pace yourself...it is worth a few hours.More

An impressive, well run, vast restaurant. Estimated capacity of 2000 covers, this place is huge. If you’re planning a trip to this area of Lebanon I would highly recommend a meal at this venue. The food was excellent, very good quality. Despite being so large,...booking ahead is a must, which is what we failed to do. There’s a play area for the children, bowling alley, donkey and camel rides, and a traditional Lebanese ‘zaffe’ group to entertain guests.More

We came in Al Shams after tour, the place is big and the ambiance is nice. I ordere the mix grill it was so good. The one that I really like is the potato puff try it with theis sauce I recomend you guys.
