terrible service and food is basic. waited half an hour for some fruit pancakes, the fruit turned up but no pancakes. asked where the other half of my order was so they went away, still no pancakes had to ask a third time for these....to be fair the breakfasts here are nice but the lunch/dinner menu is not good, pizza is dry & they are stingy with the vegan cheese which you have to pay extra for. better to just get no cheese if you’re vegan.More

What a special place! / unrak = warm love Right opposite a football ground, on the one and only main road of 'downtown' sleepy Sangkhlaburi, baan unrak restaurant offers all day long a large variety of Asian and European dishes, plus the loveliest home baked...cakes, muffins and cookies and coffee. Also on site there's a section/shop of unique clothing made by women in the weaving workshop in baan unrak children's home up the hill. We were lucky to meet one of the volunteers who gave us a tour of this very special charity project.More

I'm so happy to have found this place. Good food, good coffee, and the proceeds go to the support of a non-profit children's home. First meal was the Burmese tea leaf salad, which is a tasty favorite of mine when in or near Myanmar. They...were selling baked goods at the night market, and after sampling the banana cake, I knew I needed another fix so went back for breakfast. Had an excellent coffee, another slice of banana cake, and had them wrap up a loaf of seeded bread to go. Bread was excellent too! I'm very happy to have found this place and I can recommend not only for the good food and good service, but for the work they are doing for the less fortunate among us.More

We were in the night market and I saw the doughnut first and after a chat bought one and some butter biscuits, the chocolate doughnut was tasty and the chocolate biscuit was very tasty. A cheap treat while out and enjoyable, with the money going...to a good cause.More

My friend and I stopped for lunch and coffee. Had an amazing pizza and Italian coffee. They also have a cute shop selling handicraft items. Can’t miss stop in Sangklaburi!

I've been here for 3 months volunteering at the Thai animal sanctuary. I have eaten here more times than I can recall. What I do remember is how good all the dishes are. I really liked the green pesto pasta. All the pastries are so...good. I'm not a vegetarian and have never eaten at a vegetarian restaurant. I will definitely be going back. If you are in the area you should definitely give them a visit. The service and people are very welcoming and attentive.More

I arrived in the pouring rain, soaked through, to the kindest possible welcome and soul warming food. This place is a gem on the border and serves up delightful vegan and vegetarian food, coffee and cakes. Mayonnaise coming soon!

I had 2 cappucino that were high quality - right temp, right strength etc plus free glass of water. I relaxed lying down on stylish mattress and browsed my computer. They provided a portable fan to keep me cool. Later I order vegetarian meal with...cashews. It was very nice. Best thing was all the profit goes to the children's home. So I bought a shawl for $9 and a pair of pants for $12 (both hand woven) as wellMore

Good coffee, delicious food and a nice environment, what else do you need? Plus they are part of Baan Unrak foundation who provides a loving home, food, medical care and education to over 130 children from Thailand, Burma including the neighboring Mon and Karen States. Don't...skip it if you come to Sangkhlaburi!More

I have been coming and coming again and again to the Baan Unrak cafe. Its my favourite vegetarian place in Sangkhlaburi, and it has many vegan options from burgers and cakes to pizza and pasta. They use organic products and have a very nice vegetarian...menu. They also offer very nice espresso and deserts. I tried the cupcakes and also the carrot cake which were absolutely delicious. By the way the cafe is run by a non-profit organization that provide house, food and education to orphans and children in need from Thailand and Maynmar and all profits go to the foundation, so you eat there and at the same time support such a great cause! The cafe also offers many books for swap or to buy for just 50B and also hosts a shop with handmade crafts made from single mothers who are supported by the foundation. It's a must visit place in Sangkhlaburi. Ask them how can you help them and be sure to also visit the children's home!More
