We went to the captains bar for a meal last night ...we had a seafood started which was big enough for 2 and I had a steamed seafood curry and my husband had pad thai in like a omelette ...it was all delicious and very generous portions I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a delicious meal on lovely surroundings

My girlfriend somehow knows the owner & took us here on a quiet night in August (so still slightly low season) & remembered the Duck to be amazing, unfortunately no Duck on the menu any more. It wasn't a great experience. It started off well though. The walk from parking your car/bike is beautiful at night. Go across a lit... More

As we were staying at the resort here, we ate out more at this restaurant than any other in our two week stay. First, avoid the Western food: pizzas, fries and burgers are fine for small children but otherwise mediocre. But the Thai cooking is another story. The prawn tom-yam was stonking: delicate flavours with generous, proper, king prawns. The... More

We had fried cashews to start with to nibble on. They must have been fried in oil they also fry chips in as the nuts were tasting of chips. My lemongrass, mushroom, prawn soup had mushrooms in of which I'm pretty sure they were out of a tin. Also it would have been great to have some more vegetables in... More

My food had too much soy sauce. Not tasty at all. Service was slow. Restaurant is located next to the pool of the resort. Thus, not a nice atmosphere/location. Koh Lanta has tons of much better restaurants.

Normally as a tourist you try finding some nice places for dinner in the town center! That's what we did as well!! We found some good food along the beach where many restaurants are located!! But there is one special place on Ko Lanta that is not located that obviously but therefore a treasure. It's the Chomtalay! It's beatifully located... More

We had many meals at Chomtalay since we were staying at Moonlight Resort for a week. The menu has a wide selection of Thai and western food, we had mostly thai and seafood which were always great. Ask Ken, the manager, for his daily recommendation and you won't regret it ! Staff is extremely kind, welcoming and family friendly. Nice... More
