Pure veg establishment with a huge menu and first class food. Sadly the A/C section was closed, but even so our visit was memorable. Everything was piping hot, well presented and tasty; the server was helpful and welcoming. The four main courses were very plentiful and, together with rice, naan, desserts and bottled water came to an astonishing £15 even... More

We ate here for lunch when in Panjim one day. Was just looking for a quick bite. Don't be put off by the exterior or the tiny kitchen area. We only ordered a couple of dishes betweewn the 4 of us, as we were unsure what to expect. But the food was tasty, hot and swrvice was excellent. We then... More

The food here is really good. I visited twice, the staff are excellent. The food has the right balance of spice and flavour. The first time I ordered the Thali dinner with a dosa because I am gluten free, there was so much food I could not finish it. The second time I ordered the dosa and palak paneer it... More

I ordered a thali which was good with a variety of sauces and sweet desert. Minus one star for limited rice (no refill for rice or sambar)

We came here looking for vegan food, as it was recommended in our lonely planet books. But they did not understand. We ordered asking for no milk, cheese or dairy, but received yoghurt and curd on our thali and paneer (cheese) in our curries. The thali was really nice and recommended for people who eat dairy

After the initial unnerving stares, being tourists in a non-touristy restaurant, we had a fantastic meal. I ordered the vegetable thali for only Rs. 150 and I can honestly say I did not have better food anywhere in India. And it was so cheap. Thoroughly recommended.

Open by 8AM, Vihar Restaurant is located near the High Court, by the River Mandovi, off a street leading to quiet Fontainas, the Portugese Quarter in Panaji. Large menu, excellent fresh, vegetarian food. Worth a trip.
