What's a baleada? It's a thick, chewy tortilla filled with goodness! We visited twice; once we had beans and avocado, second was beef. Both were delicious, and only cost $2!!!! These things are amazing, and Calelu's take out is the best we found!
We had heard a lot of great things so it was our first stop after getting off the ferry. It was just ok and honestly there were much better baleadas on the mainland in Ceiba. There was barely any lobster or shrimp in the baleadas...for $10 and $9. The margarita was probably the best part. Will be seeking other places.More
Fantastic little place with upstairs seating that looks out on the water. Nelson toon our order and somehow for 6 baleadas, 2 shakes, and of course a Diet Coke, it was 14 USD (not including tip). The baleadas were very good and very filling. Highly...recommend!More
Good food, service and value. Eat upstairs where there are good breezes and better views. Seafood soup and fruit smoothies were our highlights.
Delicious food, good service. Love the seafood soup an papaya smoothie very much. We would love to back again and try more food.
Food is delicious. Authentic and at a fair price, customer service is excellent. On our second day we had baliadas, delicious, third day desayuno típico, even more delicious. Definitely a place to stop by regardless of budget.
So, we have eaten there 3 times already and have loved it! They have good food at low prices, including drinks. Plus, a little grocery store for those snacks you’ll need tomorrow. We love eating on the 3 rd floor for the breeze and view.
I was anticipating the restaurant due to all the good reviews. The service was good and we had our meals in 25 minutes but I was so let down by the what was on my plate. How can a seafood restaurant over cook shrimp and...lobster? I literally could not cut my lobster with a knife. I must have visited on a bad day but I was unable to finish my meal.More
Baleadas for the win! We ate here multiple times during our stay. If you want an inexpensive meal, this is your place! I stuck with vegetative options and they were great! My mom tried the chicken and did find some talons inside her Baleadas…so check...before you eat.More
We kept walking by smelling amazing food and finally stopped one night as a server convinced us to try them out. The food was all good and the prices were very reasonable.
I read that they had the best Baleadas on the island, not knowing what a Baleada was I looked it up and decided WTH why not? So I went there and received excellent service that was very helpful in helping me decide what I wanted...on or should I say in my Baleada and then asked how many? I didn’t know if I could eat two so I ordered only one…. Then another after I finished the first one lol You can get many ingredients in your so I won’t list them all but I’m sure they will make it to your liking. I will say that if you’re going there, be reminded, you’re going for the food not the view because depending on where you sit, you may be looking out over telephone wires and a corrugated tim roof, but again, you’re going for the food and for what it’s worth they’re probably some of the least expensive food items you can get, I think two of them and soda was something like $5 USDMore
We went here most mornings for cheap and excellent Baleadas to go. The only downside is that is is justifiably very popular so there was always a bit of a wait.
Very nice waiter and good service. Food was not even edible. I ordered coconut shrimp and got garlic shrimp. My daughter ordered fish fingers and they tasted like 3 day old out in the sun fish. My wife ordered a fish filet and got the...whole fish. That tasted like it sat out for 5 days in the sun. We boxed it up and left. I ate all over this island and this was by far the only bad meal I had.More
When we arrived the restaurant was empty. We ordered quickly and right as we did a line started to form. It took 20 min to get 3 baleadas. When they arrived mine was wrong. I ordered ground beef and they brought steak. I said I...would eat it anyway but when I bit into it the steak was AWFUL and rock hard. I sent it back and waited another 10 min. (Now I’m late for my dive. A baleada is a 2 min process. There is no excuse for us having a more than 30 min dining experience for a quick baleada.) When I finally got it they brought it to go. I walked out, bit into it and realized it was steak. Again. They literally took the one they had already given me and rewrapped it in foil. The bite I had taken was right there 🤦🏻♀️ The beans were disgusting and runny, the steak was not edible and the service was laughable. And yes, we paid for my awful baleada which I left on the counter for them when I walked back to let them know they gave me a steak baleada again. We also asked for crema for my daughter 7 times. This is not an exaggeration. 7. We never got it. If you want an amazing baleada made by amazing people go to Yahongreh and do not waste your time at this place.More
