I went with my family and we ordered a bit of everything and we were very impressed. La pasta del pescador was especially good. Great value for money and I really liked the rustic design and nature of the place. Definitely head there if you have a chance.

Out standing!! What a suprise to find high end European cuisine in such a remote place. unbelievable selections at rock bottom prices. The seafood of the day is fresh and well prepared. The absolute best place in Monterrico.

We called at around 1pm on a Saturday to make a reservation. And, since we're Americans who eat early, we were able to get a large table at 6pm. The restaurant is BEAUTIFUL. The waiter took our orders and our drinks came out quick. That's not always the case in Guatemala. The food took a while to prepare which I... More

I'm from the states and visited El Pelicano on two different ocassions last year. The food is amazing . I've never had pasta that's so yummy. The service and atmosphere are great. We actually stayed an extra night just to eat there ! Highly recommended.

We've been in Guatemala for a month in many places and the food at this place is as good as we have found anywhere. Located on a crummy dirt road, the place is very nice--clean, thatched roof and an occasional dog laying around. I had risotto with shrimp and it was delicious. My wife had fresh fish (dark meat and... More

My favorite restaurant in Monterrico is the Taberna El Pelicano. Located on the dirt lane parallel to the beach behind Johnny’s Place, it is open Wednesday through Saturday 12-2 and 6-10. On Sunday it is open 12-3. It is closed Monday and Tuesday. Their telephone numbers are 4693 5973 and 4001 5885. They accept reservations, and they handle groups very... More

We went there with a group of 5 from el delphin and the food was great. I had the tenderloin wrapped in bacon with fresh vegetables and a mushroom sauce. She had the prawn rissito Both meals were amazing

The food is OK but very overpriced. Large side portions but too much little fish and little shrimps for the price. And it's near the sea! I don't know where else to go but I will suggest you to look for other place.

If you're in Monterrico you have to stop here for dinner. The food was amazing, portions huge and priced just right. The owner was incredibly nice. We had a great time there!
