Its a nice place with a choice of indoor and outdoor seating. Medium priced with very good calamaries and excellent house wine (mezzo litro)

We had the Carpaccio dish (which was a bit too cold), the fried shrimps, the chicken and the fried squid. It was all super! Staff is very friendly, and even a bit funny sometimes. Prices are fair and the list of rakija is not endless...but of you taste them all you will definitely need an extra bottle of water to take to your room. We loved it. It's a quite busy atmosphere, but you should see through it and you'll discover an expert team, working together as an oiled machine. Our experience was great! They also had the kurkovac, which I hadn't taste so farMore
The staff couldn’t make us feel less welcome and the food was very mixed. To start we had a beef carpaccio and moulds with garlic. The carpaccio was cold (pre prepared) and the mussels had so much garlic paste it was almost inedible. The mains...were better but the service was terrible! Some restaurants just don’t understand how important the overall experience is to customers…you can overlook average food when the service is great, unfortunately Balbi is one of these restaurants. Please, lose the arrogance.More
The food at Balbi was amazing, having had the standard plate of seafood delights at other restaurants trying Balbi's was a real game changer. Well seasoned, good portions, fairly priced and the staff and service was excellent, the evening waiters are friendly and able to...give good recommendations for both food and wine. We also went for breakfast a few times, again was simple but very nice. Some items not on menu but the staff couldnt do enough to accommodate. Highly recommended, and the location is very picturesque. Beautiful .More
We weren't sure we were going to get a table here for lunch, as things were filling up quickly, but we did get one, and were glad we did! While we visited this restaurant in the middle of the cobbled streets, we enjoyed the unique...(for us) homemade pasta and the seafood. It hit the spot for us, and enjoyed being able to drink in the local surroundings as we ate. Tasty!More
Visited here as our first night out in Rovinj, and was not disappointed! While some previous reviews left us wondering what we may get at least service wise, thankfully none of that came to fruition. It seemed footloose and fancy free in terms of a...booking system but it actually worked well & the guy who seemed to be running the show had it together well. Waited about 20 min on a Friday night at 7.30p in peak summer - not bad at all. Food wise was amazing all around - we had tuna tartare for starters, then for mains we split the baked octopus & grilled squid, all of which were utterly delicious, beautifully cooked and really well seasoned. We had a great recommendation for a local Malvasija (Benvenuti) which paired exceptionally well with the food, Unfortunately the Tiramisu sold out after we ordered it so we changed to the panna cotta. It had a unique style/texture was ok to finish the meal. Overall would absolutely recommend & will potentially be back during our visit.More
The best one! The best value for money. The best stuffed calamari with bakalar. The ambient is especially appealing and nice, also try Benvenuti Malvazija they offer in the restaurant. The service is also amazing! Thanks.
Didn’t even eat. We were in the queue and the staff maltreated us for ‘staying in the wrong place’. Not at all the right way to treat a customer. We were very displeased since food looked so good. Sad story.
We had a nice dinner with regional food and wine. Price was in line with the quality. Service 7.5/10. Staff was okay.
Although the service isn’t the friendliest, the food is great and the portions are extremely generous. FYI: they dont take reservations
Calamari was overbaked, waiter was drunk and unfriendly with us. Other dish was also so oilish. I do not recommend them!
Great experience. Tasty food for good price. Nice stuff, restaurant is situated between buildings, so there is no sun, cozy between old buildings
Very rude service. You can’t make reservations and they’ll make you wait for half an hour just to say that they rather split a four person table to 2 two person so you can’t sit down with your family.
By far our favourite restaurant in Rovinj, such that we went 3 times in 2 weeks. Delight friendly staff. There were always people waiting for tables, such was it’s popularity. Possibly the best steak I have ever eaten. Wonky tables and chairs and the cobble...street were part of its charm. Slightly more expensive but 100% worth it.More
the location very nice and in the middle of rovinj. we had the best mussels ever paired with a very nice white wine that was recommended by our waiter. the service was very friendly and we will come back someday.
