Went with a group and so ordered fixed menu of fish or meat. Meat was tough as leather and fish was dry and overcooked. Meat and fish soups were no more than broth with little flavour. House wines ok, service indifferent. All this for €45 per person. Needs to close or seriously pull up its socks. Avoid a bad meal... More

Food was tasty, but not very imaginative in its presentation. I feel it is highly overpriced. The waitress made it a positive experience. She was helpful with the menu and wine and very courteous. There is larger selection than we realized of restaurants so I would not recommend it.

We booked for four people earlier in the afternoon for dinner as Hvar was very busy and had to pay a deposit to reserve the table - no problem with that. - but I wish we had found somewhere else - anywhere else! When we arrived, we were shown to our table on the lovely terrace upstairs and that was... More

We ate at Paladini twice on our trip to Hvar last year and had great food and service so we had no qualms about returning this year. The setting is lovely, an old inner courtyard shaded by orange trees. The trees used to be covered in oranges, and one actually fell off onto our table last year, which was quite... More

Our best meal on Hvar. Really lovely garden restaurant, waiters very friendly and quick service. We had mussels and risotto - delicious. Will be recommending to family and friends who come here.

I was wandering around the old back streets of Hvar when I found this restaurant with the divine courtyard under the orange trees. Waiting for my meal I read other reviews, and my experience was totally different from the critical ones. This place is great! The service is attentive and prompt, perfectly fine. All those criticisms of the fillet stake... More

The restaurant has a great outdoor setting with a nice orange grappa to match. The food was excellent. The lobster pasta was one of the best I've had.

Having booked this restaurant and then read, the very mixed reviews, it was with trepidation that we went for our meal. So glad we ignored the negative comments! Our meal was excellent, the staff were very pleasant and service was great. Our choice of food was influenced by some reviews - we chose the Dalmatian lamb - which was particularly... More

Very over priced food. Fillet steak was fatty and chewy. My husband ordered pasta with smoked fish which was radty. The wine glasses were dirty and the waiter spilled wine all over the table. House Wine tasted like vinegar. The terrace was nice but we felt rushed. Our waiter was nice but the others looked bored and uninterested! Worst meal... More

This premise is totally overpriced. We've been here tonight as all the favourite restaurants were full. I have to say that the terrace is really beautifull and that is the reason why we visited it while walking by. We should have kept walking like some other reviews said. The wines are overpriced. For example Posip Cara is 120kn in Korcula... More

Description
Restaurant Palace Paladini is placed at the old ancient part of City of Hvar. We offer fish delicious, meat and vege specialities, greatest wines and champagnes (Dom Perignon/Rose, Crystal, Moet & Chandon...).The palace where you are about to eat belonged to an old noble family from the Hvar called Paladinic (Paladinis - Italian version; de Paladinis - Latin version).Palace de Paladinis, built in renaissance style, is one of the most beautifull and outstanding Hvar palaces, situated in the southern part of the oldest nucleus of the town Hvar below the fortress known as Forto Spagnuolo. The upper palace Paladini was once the residence of Petar Hectorovic. Coat of arms found above the main entrance to the palace, on the family well erected in the garden, on the renaissance basin on the balcony of the palace and on the balustrade of the balcony bares two motives: a royal lily on the upper field and eagle`s wing of Subic family on the lower field. The present-day form of the palace (ground-floor, three upper floors and a monumental balcony - one of the most beautiful in Dalmatia) was designed by Nikola Paladinic, son of Jakov, who fought very bravely in the seabattle between Venetian and Turkish fleet. After the battle the Republic of Venice proclaimed him the knight of St Marc with golden toga.Palaces of Hvar noblemen clearly evidence of economic prosperity and cultural development of the local families in the 15th and 16th century. Furthermore, rich plebeian families always tried to keep step with noblemen which is quite manifest from their residental palaces (Vukasinovic-de Lupis, Garguric) that equal in their beauty even the most famous of noblemen of the town Hvar (Lucic, Paladini, Hectorovic, Gazarovic, Garguric, Vukasinovic...) where not erected during the period of town`s greatest prosperity, but only after the year 1571 when turks burnt the town and 1579 when lightning struck the ammunition warehouse at the town fortress causing a tremendous catastrophy.
