You could easily drive past this restaurant without noticing it but you definitely should! We were staying at the Novotel and didn't want to eat in the hotel on our last evening, but also didn't want to travel to Nyaung Shwe. So we checked out TA and found this place. The reviews are right - this small local restaurant provides... More

We walked a mile from our resort to enjoy lunch at this little place in Nyaung Shwe. Our guide recommended it. The food was very inexpensive, we ate outside and I really enjoyed it.

We landed here after our byke had a flat tyer. We were warmly received, got a really cold Myanmar beer and simple clean good food of excellent quality and a very fair price. Good stop for lunch!

Maing Thouk Image is a great roadside restaurant in the village of Maing Thauk 5km out of Nyaungsgwe. Family run and delicious Myanmar cuisine. We stayed at the Novetel about a 7 min bike ride south of the village. This restaurant was perfect for dinner and at a fraction of the price of hotel food. The Vegetable Curries were all... More

We stopped at Maing Thouk Image at lunchtime whilst on a long bike ride, and we couldn't possibly have chosen a better place to stop. Apart from the food, which was perfectly good, we were entertained by the experience of being in a traditional Myanmar village with various activities going on about us. We sat there for some time and,... More

Nice place to stop and relax after a dusty walk. The food took a while to arrive, but that usually means it is being cooked fresh to order so we didn't mind. Enjoyed a lovely vegetable noodle soup and delicious avocado salad. The menu offers a great selection, and looking at the other tables the food all looked excellent. Nice... More

It's a great place to stop for a drink and some food during a biking tour around the Inle lake! Because of heavy rain we stranded here by accident and afterwards we were very happy seeing as it's a nice place to hang out, have a drink and grab a bite! My friend and I really enjoyed the great conversation... More

After a full morning cycling from Nyaung Shwe this was a superb meal in a very clean place with great staff. Didn't expect to find such a good place so far from town (about 6kms), it's worth the bike ride just for this. As always with freshly prepared food it's a long wait but well worth it.
