Went to have a coffee here and the place is simple because the value is in the coffee... great variety, good quality and a service that could be better, if you are lucky, you have the possiblity to sit outside and watch the people walk by. The place also has the possiblity for you to take the coffees that you... More

When I got out of the airport, after the hotel to check in my bag, this is the next place I got to. I ordered the doppio. Walked around, had lunch, returned here for another doppio. And then bought 1 kg of the coffee beans, half for myself and half for a very good friend. Now I'm at home, enjoying... More

In Suplicy - Cafés Especiais, you can drink a very well extracted espresso by trained baristas, with crema in a right point. For my taste, the coffee served in the stores could be a little bit less roasted but the result is always good. There are snacks and pastries to accompany coffee. There are several choices of coffee beyond espressos,... More

I do not understand some of these reviews. I visit Sao Paulo 2-3 times a year and frequent a near by hotel. Since I am disappointed with the coffee at the hotel, I frequent Suplicy every morning for my macciato doppio. I am regularly remembered by the staff there who greet me with a welcoming smile and many times I... More

Trendy place, excellent service, nice coffee; an ideal place to spend a lazy afternoon, as they have free wifi, magazines, and confy armchairs. Quite expensive, though! But you can just have a coffee and stay as long as you want!

I visit Suplicy at least twice a week and I'm constantly impressed with the quality of the coffee drinks, the service and the informal, welcoming atmosphere. It's my favorite coffee bar in São Paulo (which, despite the claims of another reviewer DOES have a long-standing tradition of coffee drinking and coffee bars). The sweets, rolls and danishes that accompany the... More

Suplicy has always benefitted from it's location in upscale Jardins, amongst people who frequently mistake attitude for quality. São Paulo doesn't have a long-standing coffee house tradition, meaning that people didn't have much of a reference point to allow them to judge Suplicy's coffee on it's own merits. This coffee is terrible. Every espresso that I have had over too... More

The coffee may be good, but the "pay first eat later" system allied to "take it or leave it" attitude of the staff, who cannot be bothered to serve the tables but prefer to stay behind the counter, make this only a notch above a MacDonalds. Don't bother Les Pain Quotiden or Santo Grão are light years better.

Staying in Jardins

Neighbourhood Profile
Located just below important Paulista Avenue, Jardins is the junction of four smaller neighbourhoods: Jardim Paulista, Jardim América, Jardim Europa and Jardim Paulistano. It is an upper-class area, offering a variety of things to do, including shopping, museums and parks. The neighbourhood is well known for “Oscar Freire”– the most luxurious street in the city, packed with high-end boutiques. In Jardins you will also find a trendy museum, São Paulo Museum of Image and Sound (MIS), which people often line up for hours to visit. If green space is what you're after, take time to relax at Trianon Park, a refuge in the heart of Paulista Avenue.
