I love Cod Fish (Bacalhau) and this place does it right like they do in Portugal. Also its a Great Place to have Lunch or Dinner before Climbing the Escadaria Selarón or Selaron Steps seeing how its locate at the being of the steps. This place has great atmosphere and food to go with it. A little bit of Old... More

Sandwiches were ok/good. The pork chops were amazingly delicious- Simply wonderful, I loved every bite. The rice and beans were wonderful too. Don't get a sandwich, get one of the delicious entrees if you go. The bill was about $35 USD for 4 people for lunch. It's close to the escadria Selaron (Selaron stairs).

We came here for a drink after visiting Escadaria Selarón. The red sangria is really good. You can share 900ml or 1.5l of sangria for resp. only R$ 29 or R$35. Our waiter spook good English and they have a English menu available. Free wifi!

If you are looking for simply tasty food, this is the right place! Honestly one of my favorite meals in Rio. We had good caipirinhas and wonderfully cooked sardines with potatoes and greens. The sardines were de-boned table side. Highly recommend!

It is a very small place, with short staff. Traditional Portuguese food. We started with some cod cake, and it was beautiful. From this dish on, I knew I was going to have a good night. Service of the staff was perfect, made me feel really confortable. Proper prices on the food and ALSO on the wines( they have a... More

I had one of my best Portuguese fish meal in this little unpretentious restaurant. Very attentive and friendly service. Compared to Rancho Portuguese in Ipanema, which suppose to be one of the best Portuguese in town, this one in Lapa has not the snobby fancy stuff but the food being way better and cheaper. Very much recommend!!

Pork plate for my husband and grilled hake (fish) for me. Both of them were really good. We finished everything but the undercooked onions.
