I lived in Rio de Janeiro for some 5 years, and this restaurant was/is one of my favorites. I have returned ti Rio numerous time with friends, and I always suggest this place. A romantic place with an incredible view ... I suggest their fondue ... with "Batatas Rosti!"

Neat location for a restaurant, elevated in a residential area with a nice view. Locals took us, so it may be a little bit out of the way to find. Quaint, intimate little restaurant, great service, we ordered the fondue, it was excellent!

Hansl is an awesome place for couples looking for a different atmosphere (candle lights), a really nice view and quality German food. Not cheap, but if you can afford, it is definitely worth the price.

Rio de Janeiro is not the first city that springs to mind when you want a cheese or meat fondue, but if you do get the craving for one, then Hansl is the place to go - The views are also spectacular.
