We were looking forward to visiting this place but we were very disappointed. The only thing we cannot complain about is that there was no waiting time as there seems to be usual at this place. The service was hurried, as if they wanted us to get out of there as soon as possible. The food, oh the food was... More

Ate here a couple of times while staying at the Windsor Excelsior hotel over the road. Hearty Italian food with large portions. We ordered a dish each and could easily have shared. Great breaded prawn starter with tartar sauce and excellent veal escalope. My chicken Milanese came with rice & broccoli, apparently a local thing where they mix the two... More

This restaurant was over the road from our hotel and given the high risk of crime in the local area was the easiest place to get to even though we were subject to an attempted robbery just crossing the road ! The restaurant seems favoured by locals and the food is solid and tasty italian. On our second visit I... More

I went with my friend who is actually Brazilian. We were advised to check it out and expect and unpretentious, affordable delicious eatery and that is exactly what this place is! We ordered a bottle of wine (so cheap i don't even remember the cost but the flavor was amazing). We shared some garlic bread and i ordered the carbonara... More

Found this little gem by accident. Having struggled to order decent food (not being able to speak Portuguese!), they had an English menu and a helpful waiter. We arrived early (around 7pm) and got a table without booking. Didn't realise how busy they get! By 9pm, all the locals were arriving and the small restaurant was buzzing. Apparently we were... First time visiting this restaurant having found online. Was very impressed with food and service. We are both English speakers and have found it challenging in Brazil when it comes to ordering food. However the restaurant provided us with an English menu without having to ask (think it was the English tan of red and white that gave it away).... More

Whilst viewing the menu from outside, one of the locals said it was very good as they went inside. It was fairly busy (usually a good sign) and we both had a pasta dish which we enjoyed. We had a glass of wine each as it was only early evening and the bill came to 117 Reals with tip, a... More

This is a good Italian Restaurant just across the street from Copacabana beach. You will find both locals and tourists here, menu in English with everything from sallad, pasta, meat etc. Prices are a little bit on the high side because of its location I guess. Well worth a visit.

we were in five and we all had simple but very tasty food. We had both Italian dishes (Lasagna and Penne) and international dishes as fried squids and shrimps. All dishes with very good taste and sizes at an honest price. I do not recommend desserts as we had a very poor, industrialized, Tiramisu.

Staying in Copacabana

Neighbourhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
