This place looks like a hobbit hole, seriously. It's THE place to get amazing chocolate cakes and brigadeiro, the most typical sweet treat in Brazil, while visiting Rio. It's better to go late in the afternoon or in the beginning of the evening, specially if you're visiting in the summer.

This venue at Farme has closed, they keep open the other branch in Leblon. They have wonderful finger foods, serve a homemade lunch... But the forté are the delicious sweets, including the regular chocolate brigadeiro and the black & white version. Their éclairs and the typical quindim are also sinfully good!

We just happen to find this restaurant, and were pleasantly surprised. The very food was great and reasonably priced, and good variety of beers. They also have great desserts. We went 2 nights, and both were great experience. Also there was live music - bossa nova both nights. Definetely recommend this place.

This tiny bakery makes the best chocolate cake that I know of. Ask for a slice and be amazed. "A slice of the chocolate cake " in portuguese is "uma fatia de bolo de chocolate".

It's totally worth it! The brigadeiro is a typical brazilian sweet -- and Colher de Pau has a thick, chocolate perfection.

Wandering around the area, looking for a place to grab a local beer. Winner! The have a decent beer menu (along switch food) that's not huge, but pretty decent. There's translations for gringos, and the manager was pretty knowledgable. Enjoying an Eisenbahn from the South of Brazil. Nice light ale, fruity, with a pleasant aftertaste.

Close to the beach and on one of Ipanema's most pleasant streets (and as close to a gay neighborhood as Rio has), Colher de Pau competes with several other restaurants that line Farme. They offer a solid collection of imported and Brazilian beers and a reasonably varied menu for what seems like a small place. Out of curiosity, my husband... More

Typical southeast (mostly from the state of "Minas Gerais") food. Good food & beverages (draft beer and bottled beers, mostly), nice desserts. Service and prices are average. Overall a pleasant experience.
