I had the traditional dish of Moqueca de Peixe there and loved it. It was served in this very cute bowl and was still boiling when served. The serving size was quite big - could nearly feed two people if you also get a dessert. One highlight of the restaurant was the live music, a girl on the guitar with... More

This restaurant must have really turned things around since its negative reviews - lovely interior, combined with an art gallery, live music and great food. We wanted to try Brazil's traditional moqueca and were very impressed! Well priced especially because they give out leaflets offering 20% off.

If you consider cockroaches as sea food there is the place to go! Otherwise avoid this place. Not even good ser ice was offered to compansate the terrible experience that we had after finding the disgusting animal inside our "muqueca". And the payment for that must be in cash...

Got a 20% discount on a slow off season Sunday night on the Moqueca fish stew which was a good deal. The stuffed crabs were OK as a starter but completely overpriced. They had a guitarist/singer which was a nice add on but also a little uncomfortable since there were only 2 tables filled in the place. The kicker is... More

Food is so salty and no tasty. I do not know why this restaurant has a ranking. I have never seen like this kind of the worst combination restautant ever. If price was cheap, can be understood. Never visit again that area also bad smell.

I had the fish stew with shrimp sauce which was very tasty and full of flavours. The ambiance was very pleasing with a musician singing Brazilian songs with guitar. Caipirinah was also very good!

Located in the beautiful old town area of Paraty the Arpoador is specialized in Brazilian fish stews called Moquecas. Coming to Paraty you shouldn't miss to try them since they are prepared from fresh fish that it is almost melting in your mouth. The place is quite small so come early (7:30 pm) to catch one of the tables facing... More

We chose this place, a couple of streets back frim the quay and fish market, because it looked old but very fresh and well cared for, and it is a very traditional and well run restaurant. Old clocks and paintings line the walls and the tables evoke the costs verde with white paper on top and sky blue and green... More
