My husband and I checked out this place for the first time on a Thursday night. It was starting to get busy, but we were able to grab an Old Fashioned while waiting for our table. The food was great, and the portions are large. From the bar staff, servers, and owners, everyone was friendly. It was obvious they want... More

First timers on a Friday night. Warned by our friends to get there early (the other couple got there at 4:30 and received a number to be called for a table). After a delicious Old Fashioned, we were escorted into the dining room. Some of the group ordered the perch, others ordered the all you can eat haddock ($14.95).The perch... More

We went out of our way to try Marks based on the reviews. We would have been better off going to a chain. The restaurant was crowded, even 1/2 hour after opening on a Saturday. We were promptly seated next to a couple large groups with very loud voices. We were looking forward to ordering German food, which we generally... More

*Went to Mark's with family to celebrate a birthday. * It's hard to find a restaurant which has flavorful food which can safely accommodate customers dietary restrictions, for me that's celiac-safe. * Deb our waitress was knowledgeable about food allergies, but she took an extra step and had chef Alex personally go through options with me. This is EXCEPTIONAL customer... More

We visited Wisconsin for 5 nights recently, and even though there are dozens of wonderful restaurants within 30 minutes, we ate at Mark's 2 nights. The first night, a Friday, was on the recommendation of our hotel clerk. She said Mark's fish fry was second to none, and she was correct. We decided to go at 5 to beat the... More

Lucky us. A great neighbor dined with us as a surprise for our 54th. Wedding Anniversary. The waitress was tremendou: Full of Vim & Vigor, great suggestions and more. Our choice of steak could not have been more deliciou, and the liquid wash downs - choice. We spotted the establishment's owner working just as ernest as his staff. Same month:... More

We were told the wait would be an hour to hour 20 min. It was about 50 min and we ordered and we're served right away. The place was packed with diners and people waiting for tables. Everyone said it was worth the wait and it was. The owner was very visible and was bringing out to go orders. Every... More

We chose this restaurant on a Friday night, expecting the German menu we saw on their website. Apparently they become an old-school steakhouse and fish fry on Friday nights. We waited about 40 minutes and everyone coming out said it was worth the wait. Most said they had eaten fish. It was absolutely worth the wait! Two us ordered filet,... More

This place actually has a separate kitchen area and deep fryer for Celiacs. You heard me...you can order gluten free beer battered fish and fries without any worry of getting sick. Most of the staff is very good about knowing what to bring and they have a separate menu that lists everything you can and cannot have. The one warning... More
