A little bit beside the big tourist center on a corner. Small restaurant but very good food, cool beer, great service… try it out. Possible to sit in and outside. Was there twice in this week.

Food and beer was really good, we had local dishes and really enjoyed the banter and ambience. Great range of beers

Bar Zulu is off the beaten track yet in a very atmospheric and buzzy street. We went there for lunch and a very friendly staff member recommended a local dish. The portions were very generous and we cannot rate our meal highly enough. A plus is a friendly and helpful owner as well as very pleasant staff.

I am so disappointed by the food I ate tonight. The owner was lovely and even had relatives from near where I live in Yorkshire! I ordered the Arroz Dende Com Camarao which was so bland. My friend Matt ordered the Bahia Burger with a side of fries and loved it! The Moqueca sounded amazing but it was so expensive!!... More

Well thats a shame both very popular dishes. Arroz dende is our invention and extremely popular .Burgers and chips alwasys a winner but a little different in Zulu. It was a rocking night no excuse but perhaps it had an effect. More

The place has an extensive drink list and it seems to be a good place to have some cocktails. I also ordered some dinner-a pork dish. The meat was overcooked and pretty dry. I could deal with that though. What irritated me was that when the bill came there was a 3 real charge for the DJ, which was ridiculous... More

Its very common for meat in Brazil to be over done, that disapoints a lot of meat eaters so we take care to get that bit right, perhaps one slipped through. Our new pork dish is marinated 12 hours and then roasted its and reheated on the hotplate with some yummy juices from the roasting time this is a big hit .Perhapsthat... More

A nice little restaurant in a more quiet part of Salvador's historical center. They serve great moqueca at a reasonable price (for this area). Good selection of beer.

I ate here twice during my four days in Salvador. The shrimp moqueca (coconut milk stew) is so delicious that I had to go back for it. The portions are generous and you can sit outside and enjoy the sounds of Pelourinho while you eat. Would definitely recommend!

This a good cafe/bar linked to the nearby hostel. Its run by an English guy who is friendly and efficient. Clearly very popular with younger people on a budget - food is good quality.

The restaurant is great, the staff is super nice and the food is absolutely yummy. Burgers are great, but the Moqueca is definitely THE best dish of this place, and one of the best I was lucky enough to taste in Bahia. And the Caipirinhas are absolutely perfect as well!

Thank Nathalie W
