Went here with a friend that lives in Brazil. It was a Monday night so not very busy. Marcel was our waiter and we got excellent service! The chef sent us a few samplers as appetizers since they weren't too busy. Everything was delicious. We tried a couple different moquecas and farofa while in Bahia and theirs was definitely the... Let's start with the positives: The view is absolutely fantastic. The restaurant overlooks the beach and I can imagine it's a fantastic place to go in the evening too, especially when the sun is setting. The staff are very friendly and very well dressed. The menu has a great selection and I caught a glimpse of the lobster which was... More

1. Beautiful location, went at night so that we could see the ocean but the indoor lighting is so bright you cannot see anything outside. 2. Asked for an english menu but it does not exist. At the prices they charge, a tablet that has the menu in multiple languages should be a no brainer 3. Waiter was dressed impeccably... More

We went here for dinner it was highly recommended at the hotel we stayed at. We were not disappointed! We ordered an appetizer and dinner family style and it was delicious! The shrimp dish we ordered came in a huge (maybe 14" across bowl) boing among vegetables and a really excellent sauce - there was so much we could not... More

The restaurant has an amazing view over the beach and the staff is very friendly. Even tough it is pricey for the city standards and locals if you're on vacations give it a shot and you wont regret. Probably you will find the price cheap for what you will have.

Currently closed and looking like it is not going to be open anytime soon. Shame as it was highly recommended by a friend and we were planning to watch some World Cup games there!

Barravento is one of my favorite stops in Bahia. Whenever I am in Salvador (at least 4 times in the past three years) I head to Barravento for the fried fish. It is a huge, whole fish, fried to perfection. The seating is superb! Think sitting on the beach without touching the sand, while enjoying a cool breeze, delightful waiters... More

Excellent view, service, and food. One of the best Bobó I have ever tried. The restaurant is located in one of the most important tourist areas, and can accommodate big groups.

Our Brazilian friends advised that Barravento wasn't nearly as good as it used to be, but I wanted to give it a try because the open seating over the beach is fabulous and I had a great meal here several years ago. Well, they were right. It's amazing how fast a restaurant can go downhill. I knew the food would... More

English menu available, really nice location, a good meal and several bottles of bear for 2 people cost around 100BR including service charge. Great menu choice and ate here several times as we couldn't find anything that came close to this quality.

Description
Operating since the 60's, Barravento became a postcard of the city of Salvador. Its privileged location has made the restaurant the preferred meeting place for family reunions, meetings with friends, as well as romantic dinners. In addition to a pleasant and sophisticated environment, the Barravento still has a wonderful view, because its structure was built very close to the beach, making the Barravento an ideal place to enjoy the sea or a beautiful sunset.
