I'm in town for business and asked a co-worker for a recommendation for brunch, she said the Iron Horse, and it did not disappoint. Great Bloody Mary's the stuffed olives were really good. The Eggs Benedict was divine, fried green tomatoes and crab cakes, nicely poached eggs with a velvety hollandaise. The chicken and waffles were crispy and light and... More

A local standby...Always warm and welcoming, good service, good beer selection and always very good food. A cornerstone of good dining and a nice bar atmosphere in our little town of Ashland.

We were two couples dining at 6PM on a Saturday night. Our server, Ginny, was excellent throughout, explaining the choices and making sure everything was right. Two of us had the Paella and it was good, but not great. One was served without clams by choice, but Ginny had those clams served on the side for the rest of us... More

We had a great meal at this great restaurant in Ashland VA. It is right beside the train tracks going through Ashland. We had delicious salmon and chicken smothered with mushrooms . The service was so friendly and gracious. The surprise came when the first train rolls by, slowly and quietly. It was followed by two more trains before the... More

My husband and I stopped on our way to Florida. The biscuits were delicious, so warm and fluffy and the meal equaled. We truly enjoyed a local dark beer presenting chocolate with hints of raspberries. And the dessert of vanilla ice cream candied walnuts banana and warm maple syrup was unparalleled. I'm not typically a dessert person but this was... More

Had the best pork chop( boneless ) I have had out in a long time. The overall meal was very good. The prices were reasonable and the service was friendly. I can't ask for more than that. I would recommend to anyone who is in the area to try this place.

We dined here at the Iron Horse while staying at the close by Henry Clay Inn before departing and after returning from a trip on the passenger train. The restaurant is located across the one-lane street from the train tracks for excellent viewing of the passing trains. Seating is available in the attractive bar area as well as in the... More

We were staying at The Henry Clay Inn - easy to walk to. Excellent service and wonderful meal. Two adults and one child - all were happy with our meal. We wanted to be sure and have a table where we could watch the trains go by. The staff made sure we had the perfect table.

We visited the Iron Horse on a Sunday. It sits right beside the railroad tracks in "downtown" Ashland. We were greeted as if we came in every week and quickly showed to a table. Our waiter was very pleasant and explained all the daily specials. Two of us opted for the single decker club and were delighted not to have... More
