Let me preface this by saying Ray's was my favorite steakhouse in DC before tonight. It's the only one I've been to more than 2 times. The food was wonderful, as usual. I was there for a business meeting with a VIP. We had a...More

Worst experience at any restaurant. Read this before you go. We had a 6pm reservation for 2 couples. The host (who is the owner, I guess) was unprofessional from the start, poorly dressed, long line, unorganized, the waiters apologizing for him. At 6pm, people with...More

Our party tried several different kinds of the strip steak, all were very good, nicely presented, cooked as ordered and arrived simultaneously. The sides were also very good, wine list comprehensive. Good value especially compared with other steak restaurants in D.C. Good service, nice casual...More

We have been a number of times to Ray's the Steaks, both at their old and new location. We live in Arlington so it's an easy night out when we occasionally are in the mood for a good steak. The menu has ample choices (some...More

We happened by this restaurant after attending a show at the Kennedy Center. We had not made reservations just hoped for a decent early dinner. We arrived a few minutes before their opening time but they happily seated us. The food was fantastic! There were...More

DC is well known for its fancy, high-end and EXPENSIVE steak-houses... (and you are often paying more for the setting and locale and history as opposed to good food); however, across the river in Arlington, a mere 10 dollar uber ride from Georgetown is "Ray's...More

I have eaten at Rays for over 10 years and have always liked it a lot. While at one time I used to order filets, for at least five years I have been ordering NY strip, and they have always been quite good. On my...More

Came into Arlington on an emergency. I had no time to make any reservations, and headed to Ray's. They were great. Made a reservation and directed us to a local bar for a drink (they do not have a bar) while the table became available...More

It's not about the decor, the lighting, the service, even the price, this place is about the meat. Not the seafood, not the salad, it's about steak - char broiled, aged beef. That's what you get here and it's very very good. On a rainy...More

The steak is what you come for and a great steak is what you get. I had a perfectly cooked ribeye and I mean perfect. Great price and value in a town where the steakhouse experience can severely lighten your wallet. Nice wine list with...More

The evening we visited they did not offer live music. We did notice that the music wasn't too loud and made the dinning atmosphere even that much better for conversations.

Very Casual--Wore blue jeans and a golf shirt--I fit right in. There is a more formal area (still not formal--many people with slacks and shirt) and then a very informal place which I really like
