THE best gelato in Old Town! We just moved here and this is a regular evening stop for us if we want to treat ourselves. So many great flavors and they even have homemade gelato for the pups! You can also get a punch card...for a future discount. The staff is super friendly and service is quick. Fav flavor is Tiramisu and the hubs likes the strawberry banana.More

What a great tasting gelato! The texture was smooth and silky. Fast and friendly service through the walk up window. Patient staff who answered my questions on what the flavors were

We've traveled to many places (including Italy) and this was some of the best gelato I've ever tried. It's Covid-friendly as you order at the walk-up window. I had the chocolate - orange flavor and we could sit on outdoor benches to eat it. The...small size was so large that two people could share it.More

The best gelato this side of Italy, and the service was awesome too! Parking was a bit of a challenge but well worth the effort it took.

This was the 3rd time that my wife, daughter, and I had been to this cozy gelato place not too far from the Amtrak Station. We come down from Surry. New Hampshire, to visit with our daughter when she runs the Marine Corp Marathion. The...person waiting on us recognized our daughter from a year ago. What a memory! We ate outside on this balmy evening. Tip: Prepare to try the free samples and have more than one scoop!More

Stopped in here for a gelato. The blueberry was delicious and the size was great. Pistaccio was good too. Go here!

Nothing is a good as a well crafted gelato and Casa Rosada does it right. Flovers change but each of them (familar and invented) is rich and delicious! We particularly like affogato -- ice cream in expresso! Stop by and enjoy just a small cup...of something to please your palate!More

My family and I spent over three weeks in Italy a few years ago. We were averaging two gelatos a day, wanting to try as many gelaterias as we could. I can't tell you if Dondoli in San Gimignano is, as many assert, the best...in Italy. But it may well be, it is wonderful! There are a lot of reasons to go to San Gimignano, but Gelateria Dondoli is the only reason you need. The point is, I know good gelato when I taste it. And Casa Rosada makes really good gelato. If you’re in Old Town Alexandria, don’t miss it.More

Stopped in on a Saturday night. There was a line but it moved very quickly. Among us, we have a lactose intolerance, and we were pleased to see that their sorbets are water based (no dairy) and they also have some soy milk based choices....The dairy free chocolate was very good. We also had hazelnut (delicious, like frozen hazelnuts with pieces), chocolate peanut butter (decadent), and pina colada (refreshing). It’s a little pricey but worth it! The portions are generous and they have a pet friendly court yard in the back.More
