Mostly seafood and steak options. I loved their craft alcoholic and nonalcoholic drink menu. A must try is the kale salad and shrimp, mango, avocado stack. Situated directly on the water with sweeping views of the Harbor. Located in Old Town District with street parking....Reservations highly recommended with several spaces perfect for large parties or private dining.More

When we lived in the area, the Chart House -- overlooking the Potomac River -- was a favorite. We had occasion to be back there in early September and friends picked us up at our hotel to go to lunch. It was a gorgeous day...so we sat outside. The food and service were first rate. Highly recommended!More

You have to come here! My husband and I came here for our anniversary meal and everything was incredible! Our waiter was helpful and knowledgeable on everything, as someone who’s worked in food service myself I was deeply impressed by him. I wish I remembered...his name. (Management if you read this, he was young and had a thick accent, don’t loose him, appreciate him, it will be impossible to replace him) The food was incredible! My husbands steak was able to be cut with a spoon! My seafood medley was just one song of beautifully balanced favors after another. Then they brought out the dessert… y’all. Just wow. Chocolate coffee ice cream cake. Just wow. Overall ambiance was calming and lovely. Food was 15/10. Service was 15/10. And if we are ever back in the DC area we will be back!More

We were so happy to see that the Chart House has re-instated their normal size menu, and has added several new items. We both started off with a cocktail – Pink Warrior – with a contribution to Breast Cancer Month, and split a jumbo shrimp...cocktail – always fresh and tasty, and served with a Halloween twist, in a cloud-flowing bowl. Mrs. had a new menu item – lemon crusted salmon, which she absolutely raved about it. I had another new item, the seafood pot pie with shrimp, lobster and scallops in a delicious cream and spinach sauce, with a light, fluffy crust on top. It was absolutely fantastic. Of course, we couldn’t resist the finale, splitting a hot lava chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. We were seated by a window overlooking the Potomac. The service was excellent. The food was excellent. Management was excellent, coming by to ensure that everything was to our liking. The Chart House is one of our most favorite restaurants in Old Town Alexandria. It was a most enjoyable evening.More

We had a 5:30 pm reservation - got there at 5:20 pm - but didn’t get seated until 5:47 pm Frustrating! And yes I am a Landry’s member, which is supposed to mean priority seating. That being said the food was great. I love the...venue. Steaks done to perfection.More

I was seated at an outside table which gave me an unobstructed view of the harbor and the full moon. The food was excellent - Crab Soup, Spinach Salad, and Surf and Turf Pasta. The drinks were very good - Ultimate Margarita and Pomegranate Mojito.

We came here for a friend's birthday. Unlike our previous visits, Chart House's food really went downhill. They had one server covering the entire bar dining area where our table was, and the wait time was god-awful. Even though he was super courteous, there are...only so many tables that one server can cover. I wish they warned us ahead of time so we could have dined in their main dining room instead (where they clearly had more servers). Their coconut shrimp appetizer was the one and only delicious dish that was done right. Kimchee calamari was awful - wasn't even a kimchee flavor and the flavor was a bit odd tasting. My friend ordered the turf and surf pasta. He did not know it was a cold pasta dish and the "thai cilantro garlic sauce" was mostly a sweet flavor, ruining his pasta experience. I ordered their mixed seafood grill: the lobster en croute cedar was OK, but both plank salmon and proscuitto wrapped shrimp were very salty, particularly the wrapped shrimp! The bartenders do not know how to mix cocktails - all of our drinks tasted pretty awful and they had no clue about proportion of the required ingredients for each drink. Other than the amazing scenery of the waterfront from the dining room, we were quite disappointed and lost confidence to return here again any time soon.More

In a wonderful location, you can have great food and service at a fair price. Close to a seafood restaurant has a very wide choice of meals.

My husband had the tuna and I had the chop salad (with added mushrooms) and both were just delicious! We had a table overlooking the water. Our server JEFF was amazing. So friendly and kind. A great experience and we would return.

Food was very good and atmosphere was nice. Service was a little slow. Reservations definitely needed on a weekend. Great views of the water.
