I really like this place, and I typically find myself there for business meetings over lunch. We tend to order an app to share and then each order a salad, or one of the specials. I've never had anything but a very good meal here....There is, however, one bartender who is somewhat obnoxious and inserts himself inappropriately into conversations, and despite not understanding food or wine very well, is rather pushy in making unwanted suggestions. Very odd for a place that is otherwise so pleasant. I would not sit at the bar again if he is working, however, this will not stop me from returning because otherwise the staff, food and ambiance are very good, consistently.More

Everything was delicious in the tasting room and as room service. I especially enjoyed the cheese tray. For breakfast I had the morning tasting which came with yogurt parfait. I don’t usually eat yogurt, but this was surprisingly good, and when eating lots of rich...food while traveling it felt refreshingly healthy. Also, although it is pricy, we liked that the portions were smaller so we didn’t overeat or waste food.More

We were staying at the Lorien and had dinner reservations further down on King. When we got in early, we decided to head downstairs and check out the happy hour here. We almost skipped dinner because we liked it so much! Really well done apps...for half price and some nice glasses of red. Particularly recommend the octopus. It was perfect. We will be back.More

What a find we found...right in front of us. This small restaurant is an absolute delight. Don't be mislead by the limited menu. We found all of the menu items outstanding. Its seemingly ordinary seasonal garden salad turned out to be a tasty work of...art. The baguette was fresh and crusty. Our mid-60's companion pronounced the large --I mean large--French dip sandwich "the best sandwich I have ever had." Perhaps the "dip," really Brabo's superb French onion soup, was partially responsible The roasted and marinated squash sandwich brought similar raves. The the classic mussels! Perfectly done in a white cream sauce, only lightly--and perfectly salted, they had a roasted lecture. Dipping the baguette into the creamy mix brought almost sinful pleasure. Service was personable and attentive without being intrusive. Brabo is a keeper!More

Decent variety on the menu (in the Belgian/French style) and everything was delicious. The night I was in (Weds.) they were doing half off small plates until 7PM. What a great deal! The lamb meatballs small plate was very good. They have a house made ginger...beer which I really enjoyed as well. I am interested in visiting again and trying the waffle. Just a note, the "tarts" section on the menu is referring to pizzas. I guess I was expecting an actual savory tart. The pizza was good though.More

I am a little girl and the dinner barely filled me up! It was more like a tapas serving. Good atmosphere, but very limited on the range of drinks.

This is a small, informal place I had the mussels in white wine and a beer. Great meal! I wish I'd found it earlier in my trip.

The wine selection is very good and the food has always been delicious. The space is intimate but open enough to feel at home. Octopus and quiche are both cooked to perfection. I’ve been coming here when I visit for years and it never disappoints....The staff is professional, attentive and polite. The bartender, Asia, is so smart and engaging. Bread pudding!More

Happy hour every day 5-7 pm with 1/2 off house wine, beer etc and the small bits/table share section of the menu. Between 3 of us we tried about everything on that part of the menu (out of the beets) and everything was fantastic. We...also tried the classic mussels and the bread pudding. Zero complaints - octopus was some of best I have had!More

When you reach 50 years of marriage every year after should be a celebration. So we decided to go to Brabo's based on reviews and the fact we were in Alexandria. We went early on a Sunday around 5PM so the restaurant was quiet and...comfortable. We had a delightful meal and a knowledgable and fu server. Unbeknownst to us it was also happy hour (even on Sunday!). We shared about 5-6 appetizers which were all delicious and then had mussels, tarts and a French dip individually. Right down to the dessert, everything was worth talking about. A good time was had by all.More

The times we have gone to the Tasting Room, we have not made reservations. We have not had a problem getting a table. Food has always been outstanding. Great little place
